The story of Venom is far from over on the world of Marvel Comics, and with each ing year it is proving more and more impossible to predict. So what better time for a story like Venom: The End -- leaping to the very end of the symbiote's life, almost two trillion years into the future.
The comic is one of the larger line of Marvel comics exploring The End of beloved superheroes, tasking creators with imagining the final challenge, mission, fight, or battle these heroes are destined to endure. Or in the case of Venom, the cosmic battle for the survival of biological life in the universe. At least, that's what Marvel's official preview of Venom: The End looks to highlight. But just who or what are the Godminds? And if this version of the immortal Venom symbiote has outlived Eddie Brock by over a trillion years... then who's doing the talking?
Should Eddie prove as absent from this story as it appears, then fans may want to hold off on defining the starring symbiote as an explicit hero. After all, it was technically Eddie invited to the Avengers, not the symbiote itself. But for fans of cosmic mythology, and the new version of the Marvel Universe, forged in darkness by a symbiote hammer, swung by Knull the God of Symbiotes, then the preview for The End is perfectly on brand. It isn't written by Venom's Donny Cates, but from the first description of the symbiote's final showdown -- along with its obvious love for Eddie Brock confirmed -- it's clear the creative team of Adam Warren and Chamba are taking those new revelations to heart.
Describing the final battle for a clearly evolved, and apparently trans-dimensionally self-aware form of the Venom symbiote can't compare to seeing it, so read on for the preview pages below:
Only the full issue will reveal how Venom evolved, survived, and now fights against annihilation. Read on below for the full plot synopsis and credits.
