Tom Hardy posts a new behind the scenes photo from may or may not connect to the MCU.

First, Sony announced the Hardy-starring Silver Sable and Black Cat. Further movies in development include Morbius the Living Vampire, Kraven, and Mysterio, but it's likely Sony is waiting to see how Venom performs at the box office and with critics before banking too much on their superhero universe. Now, it seems Venom has taken a major step forward.

Tom Hardy posted a photo to Instagram of himself in what appears to be a hair and makeup trailer on the set of Venom. The photo doesn't reveal anything new about Hardy's Eddie Brock and the caption  is confusingly lacking in punctuation, but the post seems to indicate Venom has wrapped filming. Take a look at the Instagram post:

However, we've yet to see Hardy suited up as Venom, though we know the performance will include motion capture. Undoubtedly, the film's success will rest a great deal on how that mocap comes across on screen, and whether Hardy is able to sell the wild-looking symbiote. It's possible we'll get a look at Hardy as Venom is an image ahead of any footage, but fans won't truly know what to expect of Venom's titular symbiote until the first trailer debuts. Since Venom doesn't hit theaters until October, though, it may be some time before a teaser arrives.

Until then, fans can at least keep an eye on Hardy's Instagram, where the actor has posted a number of teasing behind the scenes photos from the set of Venom. It's unclear if filming has truly wrapped on Venom based on Hardy's photo alone, but it's likely the movie will finish up principal photography sometime soon.
