While Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, there are some particular characters from the original game that Rockstar Games should leave in the past. Of course, nobody from the GTA franchise is necessarily an angel, but there are a select few who are definitely worse than others. Whether it's because of a lack of morals or just a grating personality, some of GTA: Vice City's characters match this description, and GTA 6 should not bring them back into the series.
The sequel to GTA 5 doesn't have a concrete release date yet, and it's kept most of its contents under wraps so far, not revealing much about potential characters or plot. However, thanks to some massive leaks in 2022, fans might have received an early look at the game's Bonnie-and-Clyde-inspired dual protagonists. Although a playable female protagonist is exactly what GTA 6 needs, a ing cast of side characters will ultimately have the power to make or break the game. To prevent the latter outcome, Rockstar Games should avoid including certain Vice City residents in GTA 6.
GTA 6 Should Exclude Phil Cassidy
Being one of GTA: Vice City's most abrasive characters, Phil Cassidy absolutely should not make a reappearance in GTA 6. The boomshine-guzzling weapons dealer is ed for blowing off his arm in an inebriated bomb accident, earning him the nickname "One-Armed Phil," but this amusing scene is about the only positive quality that he offers. In addition to his offensive choice of clothing (which has since been replaced in newer versions of the game), he frequently boasts about his service in the military. But according to his VCBI Crime Tree Record, Phil never actually served, being denied multiple times for his alcohol addiction and an "unsuitable temperament for combat."
So while he's technically among Vice City's surviving characters who could return in GTA 6, his inclusion would be far from fruitful. Phil Cassidy is seemingly set in his untruthful, extremist ways, and it's difficult to imagine him providing anything of substance to the game. Thankfully, since he moved to Liberty City after the events of Vice City, Rockstar Games would have to go out of its way to include the character - and it should definitely stay that way for GTA 6.
Donald Love Shouldn't Return In GTA 6
Although his role in GTA: Vice City was minor, those who are familiar with Donald Love's story know that he would make a poor addition to GTA 6. Most prominently featured in GTA: Liberty City Stories (which deserves a remaster), Donald is a multi-billionaire thanks to his ownership of Love Media, one of the game's largest corporations. While his selfish demeanor and disturbing mentality could have been somewhat negated, his cannibalistic tendencies are not as easily forgivable. During Liberty City Stories, he outright its to Toni that he enjoys eating human flesh, describing its flavor of that of a more "sentient" chicken.
Donald Love's status and whereabouts are currently unknown after disappearing in GTA 3. Nobody can confirm that he's alive, but nobody can confirm that he's dead, either; meaning that his reappearance can't exactly be ruled out. With one of his victims presumed to be Avery Carrington, his former mentor from GTA: Vice City, it's possible that Donald could have formed a special connection with the Floridan metropolis. However, GTA 6's present-day Vice City is wrong for the disturbing character, and although there could be a mission about apprehending him should he appear, it would have been a lot more exciting in an 80s setting, without modern technology to help.
Jezz Torrent Shouldn't Be A Part Of GTA 6
As the lead singer of the metal band Love Fist, GTA: Vice City's Jezz Torrent can be entertaining at times, but he would prove nothing but a headache in GTA 6. Brash and pompous, he openly its to abusing groupies, and his bandmate even once said that he likes to partake in bestiality (which may or may not be true but is an alarming claim nonetheless). By the end of the Vice City, Jezz has spiraled completely out of control, developing an addiction to an unknown drug, and falling victim to the infamous Epsilon Program as a result. He praises the brainwashing cult for helping him overcome his substance abuse.
Although he's not among GTA 6's likeliest Vice City character reappearances, Jezz Torrent is still alive and living in Vice City to fans' knowledge. Plus, he received a few Easter eggs of his own in later GTA titles, like his guitar in GTA Online and his star on the Vinewood Walk of Fame. Rockstar Games clearly hasn't forgotten about the Scottish vocalist, and so it's possible that players could find him in GTA 6, where he'd likely be a major nuisance. Having split from his band and being indoctrinated by the Epsilon Program, Jezz Torrent's new goal would probably be pushing his strange religion to every erby.
GTA 6 Shouldn't Bring Back Tommy Vercetti
Although he's one of the most iconic characters of the GTA series, the title would be better off excluding Vice City's protagonist Tommy. It would be interesting to see where The Harwood Butcher wound up after the events of the game, but at the end of the day, GTA 6 doesn't need Tommy Vercetti. Bringing back such an influential character risks ruining the excitement and novelty of the new game, and it would ultimately prevent it from setting itself apart in the series. With such a long gap between releases, Rockstar Games doesn't have any good reason to reuse ideas, either.
It's a relief that GTA: Vice City's absolute worst personalities, like Lance Vance and Ricardo Diaz, won't be making their way into GTA 6 (unless they rise from the grave). But others who are either alive or of unknown status may unfortunately still have a chance of reappearing. As one of the most highly-anticipated titles in video game history, not much could deter enthusiasm for Grand Theft Auto 6 at this point - but should the game include these terrible Grand Theft Auto: Vice City characters upon release, the experience could quickly turn sour.
