Despite being at the bottom of the leaderboard, Dancing With The Stars. He not once has had to face the judges in an elimination. But what is keeping him in the competition if his scores are so low?
Vinny is not the first Jersey Shore star to the dancing competition; however, he is the first to make it this far in the game. Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino was eliminated early on in his season while Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi made it to week 7. The Situation's lowest score was a 12 while Snooki's was a 20. So far, Vinny's lowest score has been 17. The Jersey Shore star is now approaching week 7 still in the competition. In addition to this, Vinny has made it this far without once facing the bottom two.
Vinny Has Remained At The Bottom Of The Leaderboard
Although he has made it this far, Vinny has consistently been at the bottom of the leaderboard. Because of this, it is always a shock when co-hosts Alfonso Riberio and Tyra Banks reveal that Vinny and his pro partner Koko Iwasaki are safe for the week. Despite not receiving high scores from the judges, Vinny presumably has been receiving a ton of fan votes. In order to determine which couples are safe for the week, the scores given by the judges are combined with the votes each couple receives from fans. Therefore, since Vinny has been an underdog receiving low scores, the fans' has been keeping him away from elimination.
Aside from Vinny's scores and fan votes, he is simply just fun to watch. Even the judges have itted that although his technique is not the greatest, and he often makes mistakes, they still enjoy watching his performances. There is no doubt Vinny is having fun when he is performing, especially during the more fast-paced dances. During DWTS Most Memorable Year Night, Vinny and Koko reflected on the year Vinny started filming for Jersey Shore. The duo even incorporated his famous fist pump into the dance. Since Vinny had so much fun performing this dance, it earned his highest scores of the season.
It is quite impressive that Vinny has such a strong fan base that can help him stay in this competition week after week. Unfortunately, as Vinny continues to survive elimination, other couples who have had higher scores than he has have been getting eliminated. At this rate, Vinny has a chance at making it to the end of this season of Dancing With The Stars.
