Many Nintendo fans are eagerly awaiting news of a Nintendo Direct which gamers are believing will happen within the first quarter of the year. One game many fans are hoping to see more of is Breath of the Wild that will be released on May, 12th 2023.

Breath of the Wild is the most successful Zelda game to date selling more copies than any other Zelda game before it. On top of this, Breath of the Wild is one of the best-selling games on the Nintendo Switch and is without a doubt one of the most visually stunning games on the console.

Baldo: The Guardian Owls brings the art style of Studio Ghibli to life in this fantasy puzzle adventure. The game is simply stunning to look at with incredible art direction. The scenery is always amazing whether the player is hiking in the mountains or traversing through a dark castle.

The game has a fantastic atmosphere of fantasy with occasional dark fantasy elements leaking in. Much of the gameplay follows similarly to the Legend of Zelda and the game is a nice blend of Zelda and Tunic.

The Legend of Zelda Link's Awakening Battle

While many gamers were hesitant about the toy-like designs for characters, Link's Awakening turned out to look wonderful. This is technically the second remake the original game has had but is by far the most successful being one of the best-selling Legend of Zelda games.

Every inch of the game is beautifully designed and while the journey is short, players can't help but find themselves enraptured by the gorgeous and artistic design of the game that seems to pop in a way that the 3D games never could.

The Touryst oddly isn't a game that most people would initially expect to be visually stunning due to the blocky world akin to Minecraft. However, this is far from the case, and it makes exploration in the game insanely addicting.

The game's immersion is incredible and allows the player to do almost anything they can think of. The best part of the game is traveling and seeing ancient or mysterious sights. Whether it's deep in the ocean or within an ancient monument.

Dark Souls. However, the gameplay is more in line with most Metroidvania games. Regardless, this game seems simplistic at first, but it slowly draws into a complex and interesting world.

The game has some of the best art direction ever with beautiful Gothic-inspired settings and terrifying bug monsters. The appeal and acclaim for the game has made Hollow Knight: Silksong one of the most anticipated Nintendo Switch games in 2023.

The game is fun simply for exploration and players will never get bored when taking in the sights. While the game does have a post-apocalyptic feel, it doesn't feel gloomy or dark at all. Quite the opposite, in fact.

The game is also much larger than the previous two and the cartoon feel of the game doesn't feel any less dark simply because it isn't more realistic. Luigi's Mansion 3 is easily one of the most visually stunning games in the Mario franchise and is a game every fan should try at least once.

Super Mario Odyssey

Super Mario Odyssey is one of the best-selling Mario games ever for a reason. One reason is because of its release alongside the Nintendo Switch, however, the game is simply stunning and addicting to play.

While it is disappointingly a short game, there's absolutely no point in the game where fans don't feel in awe of the visuals. Whether Mario is hopping through the pyramids of the Sand Kingdom or dashing across the Moon Kingdom in an attempt to save Princess Peach from Bowser, the game doesn't stop drawing players in.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Breath of the Wild remains one of the best Legend of Zelda games and most fans agree. This was the first Zelda game for many new players and will help make Zelda a more successful franchise than ever before. While there are many amazing aspects to the game, one highlight is the art direction and graphics of the game.

The game has a watercolor palette to it that makes the game feel more vibrant and colorful than most open-world games. The game manages to capture scenery incredibly well-detailed while fitting it to its particular style. The game's visuals have been so popular, that dozens of games since then have tried to mimic it with their twists.

Hoa is one of the most beautiful games ever made with a world and story inspired by Vietnamese mythology. The game could be described as Hollow Knight as a puzzle game with Studio Ghibli artwork and an incredible new soundtrack.

The game is feel-good and peaceful with low levels of stress or difficulty. This makes traveling through the game and enjoying the scenery while listening to the serene music, all the better experience. The only downside of this game is that it is extremely short and players will do everything they can do in the game in one sitting of three hours.

Gris

Given that Gris relies far more on visual storytelling than anything else, it isn't a surprise that the game happens to also be one of the most visually stunning games on the Nintendo Switch. The artistic beauty of the game is truly unmatched, and the setting can transform into so many different images in a matter of a snap.

The game uses heavy symbolic visuals to match the state of mind of the main protagonist, Gris, and traveling through this game can be quite a tear-jerker. Regardless, the watercolored game is a gorgeous experience with incredible lands to travel across with one of the best art directions for a game that players will ever come across.
