A nearly indestructible element, vibranium has always been one of the most important resources in the MCU, and it is once again at the center of the events of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. In the movie, it’s revealed that Namor’s underwater nation of Talokan has also had vibranium deposits for centuries and that MIT student, Riri Williams, has developed the only machine capable of detecting it.
Given how rare it is, it's no surprise that many parties are fighting to get their hands on vibranium. So far, the element has been useful in creating many things in the franchise. While a couple of them, such as Bucky’s arm and the Dora Milaje spears, are impressive, there are far stronger items that have proven almost impossible to damage or destroy.
10 Captain America’s Shield
Before embarking on his first mission as Captain America, Howard Stark offers Steve Rogers a selection of shields to choose from, and he settles for the one made of vibranium. He does so because it’s much lighter.
Cap's shield is superior because there is no ingredient it's missing. Howard mentions that he built the shield from his entire vibranium stockpile that Stark Industries extracted from Africa. Doubts about the shield’s strength are also erased many times, such as when it blocks a strike from the Mjolnir and when Steve deflects Iron Man’s energy blast. However, the fact that the shield gets easily destroyed by one of the MCU’s greatest villains, Thanos, means it can't be relied on when dealing with the most serious of threats.
9 The Toolbox
Created by Nick Fury, The Toolbox is a digital storage device made from vibranium. It houses all the classified S.H.I.E.L.D. files and is later acquired by Phil Coulson.
Fury sure did create a secure box since attempts to crack it by Robert Gonzales, Anne Weaver, and Leo Fitz all fail. The attempt to crack it also leads to one of Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. It’s how everyone realized The Toolbox was made from the Wakandan element. But as powerful as it is, it ranks lower because S.H.I.E.L.D. eventually managed to cut it by flying in a state-of-the-art fiber laser to The Playground. However, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s status as MCU canon is dubious, so the contradition is easy to handwave.
8 Shuri’s Gauntlets
Shuri creates Vibranium Gauntlets to aid her whenever she is forced to step out of the lab and fight. The gauntlets are able to fire sonic blasts.
Shuri’s gauntlets reach the tested-and-proven stage when she is able to knock out the alternate Thanos with them during the Battle of Earth. Apart from landing a vicious blow to one of the strongest characters in the universe, the gauntlets are also confirmed as reliable during the fight with a Heart-Shaped Herb-empowered Killmonger where they subdue him for several minutes.
7 The CXD 23215 (The Bus)
The CXD 23215, aka, The Bus, is a modified Boeing C-17 Globemaster III used as an airborne command station used by S.H.I.E.L.D. In Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. Nick Fury hands it over to Phil Coulson and in the episode “The Well,” it’s revealed that its walls are built with silicon-carbide vibranium alloy.
That The Bus gets to house some of the deadliest Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. villains in its interrogation room, without them ever escaping, is a confirmation of how secure and powerful it is. And in a show where many locations, vehicles, and planes get destroyed, The Bus remains intact after the series finale airs.
6 Ulysses Klaue's Prosthetic Arm
After his arm gets cut by Ultron, Klaue steals a Wakanda mining tool from the Museum of Great Britain. He then extracts vibranium from it and uses it on a new prosthetic arm.
Klaue’s vibranium arm sits in the MCU Hall of Fame because it remains undamaged long after the character gets defeated. It makes him something close to superhuman as he can easily crush vehicles and repel attacks with it. Its ability to destabilize the nanotechnology in Black Panther’s suit is also remarkable. Most importantly, it’s one of the few things capable of destroying vibranium, and that is achieved through sonic frequency projections.
5 Doomsday Trigger
Ultron builds the equipment using stolen vibranium in order to trigger a cataclysm that will wipe out life on Earth. He then places it under Novi Grad, Sokovia.
The Doomsday Trigger’s status as an unrivaled creation is established when Ultron uses to lift the entire city of Novi Grad into the air. Its ability to wipe out all life forms also means it’s the deadliest weapon ever created. The only downside is that it has to be manually triggered. It’s easily deactivated too, something the Avengers manage to do.
4 Vision
In an attempt to create a powerful body, Ultron has Doctor Helen Cho fuse vibranium with artificial organic tissue. But a sudden attack from the Avengers forces Ultron to escape before ing his mind to the body. The Avengers thus the J.A.R.V.I.S. artificial intelligence into the body, creating Vision.
As a sapient construct who possesses the Mind Stone, Vision counts as one of the most powerful MCU characters overall. From density manipulation to shapeshifting, there is little that the character cannot do. Moreover, he has pulled off incredible feats such as hacking into Ultron’s system through the use of physical touch.
3 Panther Habit
The Panther Habit is the suit worn by whoever takes on the Black Panther mantle. The most recent versions were created by Shuri and the Wakanda Design Group.
The Panther Habit ranks high because it’s made by Wakanda’s experts, who are familiar with all-things vibranium, rather than outsiders. It’s impossible to destroy because it easily regenerates. This happens during the train fight with Killmonger and when Ulysses Klaue channels an energy blast to it with his prosthetic arm. The Habit also redistributes any form of energy channeled to it rather easily.
2 Ultron-3
After evolving past his Iron Legion form and creating a metallic body to inhabit, Ultron uses vibranium to create a stronger robotic body known as Ultron-3. And in a perfect unveiling moment, he rips apart his former body in front of Black Widow to show her what he’s now made of.
With his new vibranium body, Ultron turns out to be a far more painful migraine to the Avengers than anyone they have ever faced before. He easily beats Vision in a fistfight, and it eventually takes the combined efforts of Iron Man, Thor, and Vision to destroy the suit. Even then, Ultron still doesn’t fall. He manages to kill Quicksilver and activate the Key.
1 The Nation Of Wakanda
Wakanda has the largest deposits of vibranium in the world. Almost everything in the country is made from the resource, too.
As the major source of vibranium, Wakanda is indestructible. Even when Namor stages a devastating attack, the citizens are able to rebuild within a short time. From the Maglev train to futuristic planes to buildings and highways, Wakanda’s technology is also unmatched.
