In addition to the official "final season of the series.

Between both of these videos, a lot was revealed about what is to come before the story officially wraps up, or at least wraps up in the original iteration.

So what can fans be sure of based on the content of these two videos? Here's a rundown.

Maggie Is Back

Walking Dead Maggie

The official trailer for the season 10 finale episode, which was released back in April, is literally called "Maggie Returns." That blatant piece of information combined with the image of Maggie at the end of the 2:40 long clip solidifies the character's return.

Maggie was last seen after the presumed death of Rick. Feeling guilty, she stepped down as leader of the Hilltop and made the decision to leave the community with her son Hershel (named after his late grandpa) to Georgie's group. But a message has gotten to her about what has happened in the years since she left and she feels compelled to come back.

Beta Is Losing It

Beta arrives in The Walking Dead season 10

It was clear where things ended in season 10 that the group was in trouble. With Negan having killed Alpha and Beta seemingly becoming even more unstable than usual because of her death, he is determined to take everyone and everything related to the group down.

With his army of walkers, including Whisperers and real walking dead, Beta has managed to completely surround the group, leaving them with no way out. And, based on an extended version of the trailer for the final episode of season 10, Beta is having a major mental break. He begins hallucinating, seeing the walkers chanting to him about the end of the world as if they were a group of adoring followers and fans.

Gabriel Will Step Up

Seth Gilliam as Gabriel in The Walking Dead

Gabriel is central to the trailer for the final episode, and it's clear he might very well be the mastermind behind what the big plan is. With Maggie, Rick, and now Michonne gone, Gabriel has really stepped up as a leader.

The trailer shows that he is ready, willing, and able to take on the task. The question is: will he make it through the big battle with Beta?

It Will Be All About Family

Grimes family in Walking Dead

Gabriel's speech to the kids in the official trailer about how his fingers individually don't mean much but together, when clenched into a fist, make a mighty weapon, suggests that the group will be tighter than ever and have a plan to work together to defeat Beta.

In the new short teaser video, narrated by Maggie, she also looks back on the journey of the group, from the very beginning to now, again expressing the importance of family and working together.

The Groups Will Band Together

The Walking Dead Faction Guide Alexandria

It's evident with Gabriel's same aforementioned finger analogy that the people of Alexandria and Hilltop are getting help and will hopefully be able to defeat Beta by working together.

He continues showing the kids each of his fingers and how they represent a different group: Alexandria, Hilltop, Oceanside, and the Kingdom. What about the fifth finger? Gabriel doesn't reveal much except to refer to them as "the others."

A New Group Will Be Introduced

Walking Dead Gabriel

It's suspected to be the Commonwealth, but it's clear that a new group will be introduced in the final season, potentially more than one (Georgie's group as well, perhaps?) The first indication is Gabriel's mention of a fifth ally in their fight, which he refers to as "The Others."

That mention along with the return of Maggie and Eugene's journey to go find his radio friend all but confirms that there will be new characters and friends forthcoming. Gabriel might not know this for sure yet, but he certainly has faith that others will come to their rescue.

Virgil Comes Back

Kevin Carroll as virgil in the walking dead season 10

The last everyone saw of Virgil, Michonne had spared his life after he kidnapped her and others and pumped her with hallucinogenic tea. She left him on an island, his choice, to continue to mourn the loss of his family.

But he is shown with a backpack arriving at the community in the trailer, suggesting that he was finally able to let go and move on from his grief, and set out to find Michonne and their group. Except he meets an empty place. Will he be among those who help save them?

The Masked Figure

Walking Dead Masked Figure

A masked figure will show their face, wielding pickaxes like a martial arts expert. In the trailer, Aaron and Alden are fighting walkers in the forest when they are met with this enemy (or friend?)

Speculation as to the person's identity began immediately once the trailer was released, with guesses including everyone from Morgan's son Duane (though Morgan seemed certain Duane had been bitten and died, some believe Morgan might have gone mad by that point and was wrong) to Heath, who had an unexplained departure from the show (because the actor left to pursue another project,) to a completely new character from the comics, a Commonwealth member named Mercer.

Maggie Learns A Lot

Walking Dead Enid

In the scene with Maggie, she digs up a lockbox with letters and reads (or re-reads) one that reveals several deaths, including Jesus, Tara, and Enid, along with the existence of the Whisperers.

It's this letter and the information in it that seemingly prompts Maggie to return to help her family, or at least the people she once referred to as such.

It Will Be A Bittersweet End

The zombie girl in The Walking Dead Pilot

The new teaser video for the final expanded season 11 really takes viewers back, starting from Rick's coma and the little walker girl to Hershel's farm, their time in the prison, and Alexandria. Fans are reminded of when the group met Maggie, Beth, and Hershel; when the Governor was the most formidable adversary; when Jesus sprung up on Daryl like a ninja, when Carl and Enid had a spark of young love, and many other pivotal moments from seasons prior.

"We were all strangers who would have just ed each other on the street before the world ended," Maggie says at the beginning, further showing how far the group had come and how people from all walks of life came together to help one another. It's bittersweet in that while it is all coming to an end, there has been so much grief, hardship, sacrifice, and touching moments, that led up to this point.
