Welcome To Plathville season 6. Along with Kim Plath and Barry Plath’s tense relationships, it was rife for drama.
Instead of an exploration of the independent lives of Ethan and Olivia or a deeper look into the problems that ended their relationship, the season was full of filler episodes of the Plath family trying to find a new balance while Olivia looked for her new normal. Throughout the season, the storylines felt stale and overproduced while the drama behind the scenes was causing a stir in the family’s relationships. While Micah Plath and his girlfriend Veronica Peters became quick fixtures on the show, Welcome To Plathville season 6 earned a poor reputation with viewers who were ready for drama.
Welcome To Plathville viewers know how dramatic the series can be, but I for one was shocked that most of the season was so difficult to get through without the ever-present relationship storylines from earlier in the series. Ethan and Olivia’s marriage was over by the time Welcome To Plathville season 6 began filming, but the pair were in a few scenes together going through their apartment and struggling to let each other go. While their scenes did bring drama to the show, the rest of the season fell flat throughout, leaving me wondering if this could be the end.
It seems more likely that the series could come to a natural end after such a lackluster season.
Welcome To Plathville Season 6 Was Meant To Follow Drama
The Aftermath Of Ethan & Olivia’s Divorce Was Meant To Unfold
Although Welcome To Plathville season 6 wasn’t necessarily only meant to be about Ethan and Olivia’s broken marriage, but the season was meant to follow their split. After Welcome To Plathville season 5 documented the end of their relationship, the following season was meant to supply a look at what was happening after the couple finally split up and began separate lives. While Ethan was still pining for his ex-wife, Olivia was struggling to move forward with Ethan still holding her back. Though there were some moments where the exes interacted, they were few and far between, creating minimal drama.

The season did bring in a new relationship to investigate, with Micah introducing his girlfriend Veronica in the early episodes of the season. While Veronica originally wanted to stay off camera, she ultimately decided to appear on screen within a few episodes of Micah filming around her. The new Welcome To Plathville cast member tried her hand at bringing in the drama, but things weren’t easy for Veronica as she got closer to the Plaths. Her relationship issues with Micah, though minimal, were wrung out throughout the season and brought to public attention, but still didn’t provide much big drama.
Welcome To Plathville Season 6 Has Been Unprecedently Boring
Most Of The Episodes Have Been Overproduced Filler
Although the Welcome To Plathville season 6 episodes tried their best to create drama that wasn’t necessarily there, they were ultimately some of the most boring episodes of the series. With Kim and Ethan struggling to repair their relationship being one of the only genuinely dramatic storylines on the show, the family didn’t have much going on throughout the season. From filler episodes featuring family competitions to a fake surprise party for Lydia Plath’s birthday, it was a lot of nonsense sandwiched by a little bit of story in each episode, which grew tiring by the end of the season.
Even with there being a few interesting storylines for Olivia, who was isolated throughout the season without much interaction with the Plath family at all, the majority of the narrative throughout the season was tough to follow. Despite there being a few moments of drama, the fact that they were so few and far between pushed viewers away from watching the show. Overall, the stories that the show latched onto for the season weren’t interesting enough to hold viewers’ attention, and certainly couldn’t bring new fans to the series. After a drama-filled Welcome To Plathville season 5, it was disappointing.
Welcome To Plathville Should End With Season 6
The Series Has Reached Its Limits
Although Welcome To Plathville could find itself revitalized after a season of rebuilding, it seems more likely that the series could come to a natural end after such a lackluster season. I believe that this should be the last season of Welcome To Plathville, especially with the way that the show handled separating Olivia from the Plath family. With the stories severed in such an unmendable way and the storylines not working without the same level of drama they had in the past, Welcome To Plathville would be smarter to end now than continue and lose viewers’ trust.
