Pokémon Scarlet & Violet will be the highlight of the year for many fans of the franchise, as the latest mainline Pokémon games set for release in November 2022. These titles aim to bring many new features and play-through options that have yet to be seen in a mainline title, which has earned a lot of recent attention from both longtime and new fans.

With confirmation that no National Dex will be in these games, much like other more recent titles, players are eagerly anticipating to find out which familiar Pokémon will the brand-new species in the region of Paldea. Fans on Reddit have shown their interest in the community by posting and commenting about which Pokémon they're hoping to see above all others.

Alakazam

Alakazam, known as the Psi Pokémon, is one of the original 151 designs and is a popular fan-favorite choice from the Kanto Region. Alakazam is a powerful psychic type that many people enjoy as a staple of their team.

Reddit mrdingusjr14 shared their opinion, posting, "Alakazam is an insanely cool and really good Pokémon that I’ve never really used up until Pokémon Legends: Arceus. When I did, he was always the star of the show." While the monster is popular, he's famously hard to acquire as one of few trade-only evolutions.

Breloom

Breloom is a grass/fighting dual-type Pokémon introduced in Generation 3's Hoenn Region. Breloom is the evolved form of Shroomish and is known as the Mushroom Pokémon.

As a Hoenn-native Pokémon, Breloom has also played a key role as a key team member for many gamers in the ORAS remakes on 3DS. When the Reddit Pokémon community was asked by a what Pokémon they'd like to see potential return in Scarlet and Violet, this responded, "I just want my boy Breloom back." tistisblitskits added, "We need some Gen 3 love, Breloom is my grass mon every time, he is the boi."

Gogoat is a grass-type Pokémon introduced in Generation 6, known as the Mount Pokémon. Gogoat is a strong Pokémon, and is often considered one of the most powerful grass types.

Replying to the same topic of which Pokémon would be most anticipated to appear in Paldea, Reddit MysticWaters134 commented "Gogoat, because it hasn’t been in any games in X and Y". OldOperaHouseMan shared a similar opinion, commenting, "Skiddo and Gogoat since they've been native X and Y only."

Litwick

Litwick is a ghost/fire dual-type Pokémon introduced in the Unova region of Generation 5. Litwick, known as the candle Pokémon, is the first form Pokémon that evolves into the spooky Chandelure, known for its scary lore and Pokédex entry.

Litwick is one of the more popular Pokémon in the entire franchise, with many fans hoping for its inclusion in the Paldea Region. Thamkin commented, "As long as Litwick is in, I'm good. Literally, the game JUST needs Litwick, and the Pokedex is perfect."

Introduced in Generation 3's Hoenn Region, Ralts is a psychic type known as the Feeling Pokémon. The Ralts evolution line into Kirlia then Gardevoir has always been popular with fans and only grew when Gallade was added in Generation 4 as a gender-based evolution.

Ralts is adored by many both for its role as the adorable partner Pokémon to game character Wally, as well as the potential it holds in battle as it evolves. Pidgeot

Pidgeot is a normal/flying dual-type Pokémon, and one of the original 151 designs of Kanto. Pidgeot is the final evolution of the Pidgey evolution line and is referred to simply as the Bird Pokémon.

Pidgeot holds a special place in the heart of many fans for being one of the original 151 Pokémon, with Pidgey being one of the first monsters players will encounter in the game. This Reddit voiced their hopes for the return of the Pidgey evolution line, commenting, "Pidgeot was my favorite Route 1 flying type since Gen 1, and when I finally came to understand I couldn't have one in Sword/Shield, I was a sad boi."

Greninja

Greninja is a water/dark dual-type Pokémon introduced in Generation 6's Kalos Region as the Ninja Pokémon. Greninja is the final evolved form of water starter Froakie and is known as one of the best water type Pokémon.

Greninja was immensely popular following its release and even featured as a core member of Ash's team in the anime. Reddit JProGaming shared their hopes for a return, commenting, "Greninja! It isn't yet playable on the Switch (aside from Pokémon Unite) and I NEED it!"

Delphox

Many fans are wishing for the return of the immensely popular Kalos starters. Redditor RecordAggravating317 shared their hope for Delphox's inclusion into the Paldea Region, commenting, "Just Delphox, it's the only Pokémon I needed in Gen 8 to complete my dream team, just add the Kalos trio, it's only fair."

Minior

Minior, known as the Meteor Pokémon, is a rock/flying dual-type introduced in Generation 8's Alola Region. Minior is a unique Pokémon often considered one of the best inanimate object-looking designs.
