having Noise Marines among their number, who utilize powerful sonic weapons to disorient and kill their foes. Like other Chaos Space Marines, the Emperor's Children are led by a fallen Primarch, a demi-god human swayed by the Ruinous Forces. And in 2025, their Primarch will make his grand return to the game.

On Christmas Day, Games Workshop revealed a new figure for Fulgrim, the daemon prince leader of the Emperor's Children. The miniature depicts Fulgrim as a four-armed monster with wings and a serpentine lower half. While he may resemble a terrifying monster, Fulgrim was once a Primarch of humanity, created by the Emperor of Mankind to lead his armies and build the Imperium of Mankind. However, Fulgrim was swayed by the lure of Chaos and betrayed the Emperor during the Horus Heresy. Fulgrim survived the encounter and eventually ascended into daemon princehood, keeping out of site until the present day.

Who Warhammer 40K's Primarch Fulgrim Is

Fulgrim Is A Corrupted Demigod Seduced By The Powers Of Chaos

Fulgrim, depicted in the miniature revealed on the official Warhammer YouTube channel, is one of the 20 Primarchs, superhuman transhumans created by the Emperor of Mankind. As babies, all the Primarchs were taken from the Emperor's lab by the forces of Chaos and scattered across the galaxy. Fulgrim was deposited on a remote world and eventually became its leader before he was found by the Emperor. When meeting his father for the first time, Fulgrim dedicated himself to emulating the Emperor's perfection. He became close with the fellow primarch Ferrus Manus, who forged the Fireblade for him to wield.

While conquering a planet, Fulgrim found a sword in a temple. Unbeknownst to him, the sword had a Slaaneshi demon, who corrupted his mind and turned his pursuit of perfection into a pursuit of hedonism. Fulgrim ed Horus and other traitorous forces during the Drop Site Massacre on Istvaan V. During that battle, Fulgrim slew his brother Ferrus Manus. Fulgrim was horrified by what he had done, but the Slaaneshi demon in his blade possessed him to keep the Emperor's Children loyal. Fulgrim would eventually retake his body, but remained under Chaos's sway until the end of the Horus Heresy.

Fulgrim was one of the four original daemon primarchs made as miniatures for Epic Space Marine, an epic-scale miniatures game that allowed for larger-scale combat than Warhammer 40K. In recent years, Games Workshop has recreated these miniatures as figures for modern Warhammer 40K armies, with Fulgrim following Mortarion, Magnus, and Angron in the game. The addition of Fulgrim and his Emperor's Children also means that each of the Chaos gods now have their own dedicated Chaos Space Marine chapter in the game.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 took the world by storm at launch, but now players want games that offer similar gameplay. Luckily, there are plenty.

What's unclear is why Fulgrim is returning to the world of Warhammer 40K. Although Fulgrim was a bit more active than his fallen Chaos brothers after the fall of the Horus Heresy, he's largely been in isolation for 10,000 years. His return alongside several other Primarchs, both traitorous and loyalist, seems to signal that another conflict is coming soon. We'll likely get a hint about why Fulgrim and the Emperor's Children are making a return soon, although it could be a while before Warhammer 40K's notoriously slow storylines play out.
