Games Workshop will have its first Warhammer reveal of 2025 this weekend, with likely reveals of the Emperor's Children for Warhammer 40,000 and a new Soulblight Gravelord Black Knight for Warhammer: Age of Sigmar. This weekend marks the Las Vegas Open, the first major wargaming tournament of 2025. Thousands of attendees will pit their miniatures against each other in a variety of games, including perennial favorites Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer: Age of Sigmar.
As part of the Las Vegas Open, Games Workshop has announced it will reveal several miniatures for several of its games. The Warhammer Preview event will air live on Warhammer's Twitch channel at 9 PM PST on January 16th. Miniatures will be revealed for Warhammer 40,000, Warhammer Age of Sigmar, Warhammer: The Old World, and Necromunda, along with book reveals for the Black Library, Games Workshop's branded book line. No further details were provided about what would appear in the preview outside of some suspicious silhouettes that provide some obvious teases.
What Will Be Revealed At The First 2025 Warhammer Preview Event?
Emperor's Children, Beastmen, And Soulblight Gravelords All Teased
While Games Workshop didn't give any firm details on their plans for later this month, the preview images provided some pretty big teases. One figure, holding a sword and whip with large pipelike instruments strapped to their back, is almost certainly an updated version of Lucius the Eternal, a member of the Chaos Space Marines' Emperor's Children chapter. Games Workshop has been teasing new models for the Emperor's Children for several weeks and revealed their leader Fulgrim on Christmas Day, so Lucius makes sense as a subsequent reveal.
Another silhouette shows a knight riding on a skeletal horse, which is almost certainly tied to the Soulblight Gravelords. The Black Knights currently used by the vampiric army first appeared in Warhammer Fantasy, so it stands to reason that they're getting a refresh. Other previews include what appears to be a Beastman for Warhammer: The Old World and a large robot that matches a similar model used in the Horus Heresy game. Most of these miniatures will likely be released in the spring of this year.
Our Take: We Can't Wait To See The Emperor's Children In Action
These Could Be Some Of The Best Chaos Space Marines Yet
The Emperor's Children have some of the coolest miniatures in Warhammer 40K in the form of Noise Marines, notoriously loud marines that use sonic blasters and instruments to disorient and kill their foes. Just those reveals should keep fans pretty happy, although we're excited to see what Games Workshop has in store for its other games too.
We're particularly interested in the Warhammer: Age of Sigmar reveals, as those sculpts tend to be among the best fantasy miniatures around.
