The Birdseye perk in Warzone 2 essentially grants players access to an unlimited UAV, and it feels like using a cheat code. The UAV isn’t completely persistent, though, as it only activates when one is called on the map, even by enemy players. If this effect is Birdseye’s intended effect, then it hardly feels fair because of how much information is revealed to the player.

Content creator Warzone 2 default loadout, jackfrags’ team wins the match with ease, knowing where every enemy player is. Players can have their map open and get intel on almost all the enemy players in their vicinity. This makes it extremely simple to plan out where to move to set up for the next safe zone. Thus, unlimited UAV s will have a positional advantage, in addition to locational information, over anyone who doesn’t have the Birdseye perk active. It’s frankly hard to believe that this effect is intentional.

Unlimited UAVs in Warzone 2 Break The BR Experience

The ability to access nearly unlimited UAVs in Warzone 2 ruins the experience of the Battle Royale mode by effectively removing the necessity for player intuition. Before, skilled players developed the knowledge to intuit where enemy players might be and what positions could be the most effective for the next safe zone circle in the Warzone 2. However, knowing where everyone is and where the vacant parts of the next safe zone are makes it so that good aim is the only skill required to win. It removes so much depth from the Battle Royale experience that it turns it into little more than a standard game of Call of Duty multiplayer.

Will Infinity Ward Patch Unlimited UAVs in Warzone 2?

Some players believe that the unlimited UAV granted with the Birdseye perk is intentional, while others say argue that it is a bug. Infinity Ward has yet to confirm either way, but it most certainly feels unintentional. It is simply too powerful of a perk that it practically makes the other options in Warzone 2’s loadout system useless by comparison. The other indication that the unlimited UAV is a bug is that the perk systems for players’ custom classes suffer from a pretty bad glitch. Players can equip the Birdseye perk, or any other Ultimate Perk, in their custom class. However, when they grab it from the loadout, Quick Fix is automatically applied instead.

The perk system in Warzone 2 is clearly unbalanced and non-functional in many ways outside the Birdseye perk. Whether the perk is working as intended or not, the unlimited UAV is definitely in need of tweaking. With all the waves it’s making in the Call of Duty community, it seems likely that Infinity Ward will release a patch relatively soon to address the issues. Hopefully, the developer confirms that the unlimited UAV is indeed a glitch in Warzone 2 that will be resolved to restore some integrity to the Warzone 2 experience. Otherwise, the mode will lose the required skill and gameplay sensibility that made it great in the first place.
