As fans prepare for the release of Call of Duty: Warzone is set to receive new content. Leaked images of promotional content have been circulating around the Call of Duty data mining community.  Since its release earlier this year, the free-to-play multiplayer has only featured one map, Verdansk.

Warzone is set to receive a wide variety of new content as part of Activision's "classified Warzone experience" when Season 1 of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War suggesting a new map would be coming to Warzone and this fresh leak appears to vindicate those claims.

The recent leak comes from the BlackOpsLeaks Twitter . The images show a new location aptly named Rebirth Island. The picture displays the Call of Duty: Warzone logo and the words 'Rebirth Island' directly underneath. Behind the title in the leaked image, a small island with encircling mountains and steep terrain is visible. According to GameRant, it is unknown when Activision will reveal any new details regarding the leaked content. While it is not yet confirmed, it appears likely that Rebirth Island will be a standalone map in addition to Verdansk. Considering that Black Ops Cold War officially released last month, coupled with the  launch of Season 1, it was always probable that COD: Warzone would receive another map. According to the leaked images, the new map looks smaller than Verdansk, which means players who enjoy close combat should relish the change of scenery.

The leaked announcement of Rebirth Island comes during a busy period for Activision and Treyarch. Warzone is currently integrated alongside Modern Warfare and Black Ops Cold War, with all three titles participating in a brand-new progression system that is unique to the Call of Duty franchise. All of the new weapons, cosmetics and content included in the full release of Black Ops Cold War are accessible in Warzone. This same dynamic exists for Modern Warfare, despite all three games taking place in completely different time periods.

Bearing all of this in mind, it makes sense that Rebirth Island is a new map since it is meant to coincide with the Cold War era. This would guarantee a complete crossover of weapons, outfits and gear between Warzone and COD's latest release. Activision has made it clear players will have to wait before they can learn more details surrounding Rebirth Island. For now, the only insight we can glean is through the leaked images.
