An ancient wizarding family, the Weasley family tree is extensive and filled with some of the most important characters in the the Weasley family has helped Harry more times than anyone can count.

A very poor, very old, and very loving family, the Weasleys' unsaid invitation for Harry to be a part of their clan is just as important an invitation as the one brought to him by an owl at the beginning of The Sorcerer's Stone. The Weasley family is large with some siblings who are only hinted at until they're introduced later. From their home in The Burrow to the highest offices of the Ministry of Magic, the Weasleys have made their way across the wizarding world of Harry Potter and welcomed others into the family tree along the way.

Arthur & Molly Weasley

The Weasley Parents, Played By Mark Williams & Julie Walters

Arthur (Mark Williams) and Molly Weasley (Julie Walters) hugging each other in Harry Potter.

The patriarch and matriarch of the Weasley clan, Arthur works at the Ministry of Magic in the Misuse of Muggle Artifacts Office, an underappreciated, but important part of wizard government. Molly Weasley stays at home in the Burrow, tending to the many needs of seven young wizards. They often butt heads, with Molly not always having patience for Arthur's childlike exuberance, but their love for one another is obvious. As Harry Potter heads towards its finale, they each have opportunities to show that along with being excellent parents, they're formidable wizards to boot.

William "Bill" Arthur Weasley

The Oldest Weasley Sibling, Played By Domhnall Gleeson

Bill Weasley is the oldest of the Weasley children and is often referred to as the coolest. His first appearance is in The Goblet of Fire in the books and in the movies, he doesn't show up until The Deathly Hallows: Part 1. Wise, loyal, and charming, Bill is the consummate older brother. He's also very brave, taking on the werewolf Fenrir Greyback (Dave Legeno), and nearly being mauled to death for it. Bill marries Fleur Delacour (Clémence Poésy) at the beginning of The Deathly Hallows, which is the official start of Voldemort's takeover.

Charles "Charlie" Weasley

The Second Weasley Sibling, Played By Alex Crockford

Charlie Weasley is the least known of the Weasley siblings, particularly when it comes to fans who have only seen the movies. The second-oldest sibling, Charlie is a dragonologist who is often out of the country, studying dragons. He plays an important role in the first book, bringing Norbert the Norwegian Ridgeback to a dragon sanctuary, and then returns in the fourth book to take care of the dragons used for the Triwizard Tournament. He only appears in the movies once, in a photograph of the Weasley family taken on vacation in Egypt.

Percy Ignatius Weasley

The Third Weasley Sibling, Played By Chris Rankin

Percy is the third-oldest Weasley sibling, and though he's a tier below in importance to Ginny, Ron, Fred, and George, he still plays an outsized role in Harry Potter. The most academically minded of all his siblings, as well as the least interested in hijinks and games, Percy seems like he can't wait to leave the Burrow and his family behind. The moment he graduates, he immediately puts all his efforts into climbing the magical corporate ladder, at one point becoming estranged from the Weasleys when he takes the Ministry's side over Harry's.

Fred & George Weasley

The Fourth & Fifth Weasley Siblings, Played By James & Oliver Phelps, Respectively

Fred (James Phelps) and George Weasley (Oliver Phelps) leaning in to one another in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1

The mischievous twins of the Weasley family, Fred and George's penchant for pranks belies their incredible magical abilities, and it's fair to say they are the most powerful of all the Weasleys. They are great big brothers, treating Harry like a sibling immediately, which comes with its share of practical jokes. The twins leave Hogwarts early to start Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes and later fight at the Battle of Hogwarts where Fred is killed. It's one of the most tragic deaths in Harry Potter and one of the reasons Percy's reunion with his family earlier is so important.

Ronald "Ron" Bilius Weasley

The Sixth Weasley Sibling, Played By Rupert Grint

Harry's best friend, Hermione's (Emma Watson) husband, and one of a handful of people to ever destroy a Horcrux, Ron Weasley is the sixth-youngest Weasley sibling and one-third of the main characters in the Harry Potter franchise. An incredibly loyal friend, a brave wizard who is constantly overcoming his fears, a conflicted young man who always apologizes for his behavior, Ron is a truly heroic figure in Harry Potter and one of the few people who can set Harry straight when he's making a mistake. There would be no Harry Potter without Ron Weasley.

Ginevra "Ginny" Molly Potter (Née Weasley)

The Seventh Weasley Sibling, Played By Bonnie Wright

Ginny Weasley, the youngest Weasley sibling, and the only girl, starts the series as an annoying little sister type, constantly pestering Ron and Harry. Over the years, she matures emotionally and magically, becoming a formidable witch and a talented Quidditch player as well. In The Order of the Phoenix, Ginny goes with Harry and the gang to the Department of Mysteries, and in Half-Blood Prince, her long-standing crush on Harry is finally reciprocated, and the pair begin dating. They're later married and have three children together.

The Malfoy Connection Explained

Plenty of important characters marry into the Weasley family as well. Harry and Ginny begin dating in Harry's sixth year and though he breaks off their relationship out of fear of what Voldemort will do to those he loves, they eventually get back together and get married. Hermione and Ron had a book-spanning love-hate relationship that often saw them fighting, but that was only a cover for their real feelings. Finally, in The Deathly Hallows, they kiss for the first time, acknowledging their love for one another. They're later married and have two children.

Bill meets Fleur Delacour during the Triwizard Tournament, and they begin dating the summer after when Fleur gets a job at Gringotts Bank with Bill. The Weasleys are at first unhappy with Bill's choice, considering Fleur vain and blunt, but when she fiercely defends Bill after he's attacked by Fenrir, Molly tearfully welcomes her into the family. Harry Potter is a multimedia franchise about an orphaned boy who enrolls at Hogwarts School of Wizardry, where he learns the truth about himself, his family, and the terrible evil that haunts the magical world. Adapted from the novels, Harry Potter is an eight-episode film saga that follows the journey of Harry Potter and his friends, Hermoine Granger and Ron Weasley, as they navigate the tricky world of growing up, school life, and magic. Starting from year one and moving to their seventh year, the films chronicle the students' time at Hogwarts while unfurling a sinister plot that centers around the unsuspecting Harry. With the return of the dark wizard, Voldemort, the students and professors at Hogwarts will fight to carry on as the world around them may change forever. Harry Potter has expanded beyond the world of its films and novels with several video games, a spin-off film series titled Fantastic Beasts, and even attractions at Universal Studios.
