Edward Scissorhands' Anthony Michael Hall Is Reuniting With Tim Burton In Wednesday Season 2
Anthony Michael Hall Portrayed Jim In Edward Scissorhands
It was confirmed on April 29 that Anthony Michael Hall is ing Wednesday season 2, though his role is still undisclosed. Wednesday now marks the first time since Edward Scissorhands that Anthony Michael Hall and Tim Burton have worked together, with the actor having portrayed Kim’s boyfriend, Jim, in the 1990 gothic fantasy movie. So far, Hall is the only Edward Scissorhands actor who has ed Wednesday, but there’s still the potential for more cast like Winona Ryder, Dianne Wiest, or Kathy Baker to appear in the future.
Though he hasn’t starred in a Tim Burton-directed project in 35 years, Anthony Michael Hall still kept up his horror resume in the time before landing his mysterious role in Wednesday season 2. Hall notably starred in the 2021 slasher film Halloween Kills, the 2013 horror western Dead in Tombstone and zombie film Zombie Night, the 1995 horror comedy A Bucket of Blood, and a 1993 episode of Tales from the Crypt. However, it’s unclear whether Hall’s Wednesday role will be more connected to the supernatural horror of Nevermore Academy’s outcasts or the local “normies.”
Wednesday season 2 part 1 will be released on Netflix on August 6, followed by part 2 on September 3.
There’s also no word yet on whether ‘80s icon Anthony Michael Hall will be appearing in one of the Tim Burton-directed Wednesday episodes. In addition to Burton serving as an executive producer on the series, he’ll be directing four episodes in season 2, mirroring his directorial role from season 1. According to Bloody Disgusting, Burton directed episodes 1, 2, 7, and 8 of Wednesday season 2, so there’s still a high chance that Hall appears in one of the Burton-helmed outings if he has a multi-episode role.
Anthony Michael Hall's Casting Continues A Great Tim Burton Trend For Wednesday
Hall Isn't The Only '90s Tim Burton Actor To Appear In Wednesday
Of course, Anthony Michael Hall isn’t the first Tim Burton ‘90s movie actor to the cast of Wednesday. That record goes to Christina Ricci, who portrayed the villainous Ms. Marilyn Thornhill/Laurel Gates throughout Wednesday season 1. Though she most notably portrayed Wednesday Addams in the popular 1991 and 1993 The Addams Family films, Ricci had also previously collaborated with Tim Burton on his 1999 horror adaptation Sleepy Hollow.

10 Tim Burton Actors We Want To See In Wednesday Season 2
With their frequent appearance in the Tim Burton filmography, this list of actors could have roles in the highly anticipated Wednesday season 2.
There’s still no confirmation about whether Ricci will be back in Wednesday season 2, but Hall’s casting continues a delightful trend of reuniting Burton with actors from some of his most iconic movies after decades apart. Hall and Ricci’s Wednesday roles also set a precedent for more actors from Burton’s films of that era in his career to potentially his Addams Family spinoff. If that’s the case, then Wednesday could go on to feature ‘90s Burton collaborators of that generation like Winona Ryder, Natalie Portman, Sarah Jessica Parker, or Lukas Haas in future outings.
