One of the best characters of Addams Family characters that will be featured in Wednesday season 2, including some brand new faces (like Grandmama Hester Frump, played by Joanna Lumley). Then, there are those returning from season 1, such as Fred Armisen's Uncle Fester.
Wednesday's paternal uncle has long been a fan-favorite in the Addams Family franchise, and Armison's version didn't disappoint. Uncle Fester appeared midway through Wednesday season 1 to help his niece out with her adventures, and reappeared in the final episodes to save Thing using his electricity powers. He proved himself to be the very epitome of Addams kookiness, and the uncharacteristic affection Wednesday demonstrated toward Uncle Fester was a high point of the series. Unfortunately, he wasn't featured nearly enough in Wednesday, but that's about to change.
Uncle Fester Will Have More Screen Time In Wednesday Season 2
Fred Armison Has Teased More Fester
Armison has provided an intriguing tease regarding Uncle Fester's Wednesday season 2 role (via Netflix), noting that we should be seeing more of this character in the batch of episodes. "In season 2, you get to spend more time with Fester," the actor said, "You see that he is helpful. He really does put himself in what you would think is harm's way to help Wednesday."
This is excellent news, not only because any additional time with Armison's Uncle Fester on screen is welcome, but because the dynamic between Wednesday and her uncle was so meaningful in season 1. Wednesday Addams likes to pretend that she doesn't care about anyone, and this makes her relationships with her family rather complicated. However, Fester is one of the few whom she doesn't attempt to hold back her enthusiasm and affection toward. These two Addamses simply get one another, and this fact helps us dive deeper into Wednesday's character.

How Wednesday’s Uncle Fester Compares To The Movie Character
How the Netflix series Wednesday's Uncle Fester, played by Fred Armisen, compares to the 1991 film version played by Christopher Lloyd.
Armison's tease about Fester putting himself in harm's way for Wednesday is another detail that shouldn't be ignored. This character already proved his usefulness and dedication to his family in Wednesday season 1 when he saved Thing, but this sounds like another situation entirely. Armison appears to be referencing some sort of self-sacrifice, which is interesting in the context of the Addams family. I sense another surprisingly heartwarming moment in Wednesday's future, which could expand beyond the titular character.
Uncle Fester's Wednesday Season 2 Return Will Likely Include More Time With Pugsley
These Are Two Special Characters In Wednesday's Story
Back in Wednesday season 1, Uncle Fester visited Wednesday at school, so we didn't see him interact with the rest of the Addamses. We don't know how this version of the character gets along with his brother, Gomez, or what Morticia thinks of her brother-in-law. However, it looks as if we will get a chance to see this and more in Wednesday season 2. Promotional images show Fester in a bath, meaning Wednesday will likely be reunited with her Uncle at the iconic Addams Family mansion. What's more, the trailer for season 2 hints that Pugsley and Uncle Fester will share a unique connection.
There was never any acknowledgement that Pugsley had any powers in Wednesday, season 1, but the trailer for season 2 shows him using a similar sort of electricity ability as Fester. This is likely a new development for his character, and his powers will surely require some development. Uncle Fester may step in to provide Pugsley with a (painful) electrical education.
Overall, more Pugsley and Fester are the perfect opportunity for more development for Wednesday's unique protagonist.
This is precisely the sort of situation we would see in the Addams Family, so it would be a welcome sight in Wednesday season 2. Of course, this version of Wednesday also has a soft spot for her brother. Overall, more Pugsley and Fester are the perfect opportunity for more development for Wednesday's unique protagonist.
