Kim Honored Joshua At A Family Website

That Site Is Currently Archived

During Welcome to Plathville season 1, Kim shared some shocking news - she revealed that their youngest son, Joshua, ed away after a tragic accident at their farm. He was just 17 months old when he died. Kim created a now-archived website for her family, to the controversial Plath Family Band, and she honored Joshua there. She explained that her son ed away in 2008, when she was doing farm chores while caring for her kids.

Kim was in her Suburban, moving fruit trees across the driveway to another part of the farm. She says she checked to make sure that none of her kids were in the way. By the time she got back into the driver's seat, little Joshua had apparently gotten in front of the vehicle, where she couldn't see him, and she pulled forward. After the accident, Kim wrote on the Plath Family Band website that she was experiencing "Hell on earth."

Kim was barely able to function after Joshua's death - that is so sad. People who are grieving often feel very alone. Their loved ones should rally around them to make sure they're okay.

While many Welcome to Plathville fans have called out Kim Plath for manipulating her children, her memories of the day Joshua ed away were wrenching. She said that she felt guilty for nearly a year after that. Kim also complimented Barry for ing her throughout the most difficult time of her life, saying, "my respect for this man soars when I think of how strong he was when I needed him most." Ethan, Micah, Moriah and Lydia all say that they Joshua and miss him.

The Family Gathered At Joshua's Grave

That Happened In Welcome To Plathville Season 2

In Welcome to Plathville season 2, despite the fact that Micah and Moriah were kicked out of their family home by Kim for being bad influences on the younger children, they all gathered to celebrate Joshua's life. The family put flowers on his grave, as seen in the clip above, and Kim said on the show that if there was any moment she could change in her life, it would be that one.

Joshua is still an integral part of Welcome to Plathville, as the Plath family put aside their differences to share their love for him.

She Really Opened Up

When Kim opened up about Joshua's death on the show in November 2019, she made it clear that her feelings for him still affect her, and this is endearing. Kim does have a heart. Sometimes, it seems like she's cold and narcissistic. However, she loved her son - she will always love him. Kim said:

I wanted to die. My husband was dealing with losing his son and his wife. I was gone. Checked out. Unavailable for conversations or reality.

That is heartbreaking. Kim needed time to heal, and luckily, she made it through the darkest phase of her life. Her husband was grieving too, but found it easy to forgive his wife for the tragic accident. Clearly, he truly loved Kim, as this kind of forgiveness can be hard to find.

Maybe she will regret divorcing Barry someday. When it really mattered, he was there for her, comforting Kim instead of blaming her.

Right now, Kim and Barry are navigating their new roles as co-parents. They aren't living in the past, but that doesn't mean that they don't think about Joshua. Quite possibly, they think about him every day of their lives. It's been a long time since Barry talked about how they found a touch of "heaven on earth" in Cairo, Georgia. Times have changed. Kim has been dating and Barry's focused on a post-split revenge glow-up. He's working out. For example, he runs with his daughter Moriah.

While Kim is living with three of her kids on the boat, Barry has often been the Plath childrens' rock during the divorce. He was there for Moriah when she was living with depression. Kim didn't offer the same kind of emotional safety net. So, Barry may not be as robotic and stubborn as he seemed in the series' earlier days. He has a softer side. The divorce may be painful, but it's also freed him up to be who he really is. He's more than Kim's puppet.

Kim Plath Is Putting The Past Behind Her

Will Living On A Boat Make Her Happy?

Kim will never fully get over this tragedy - it's just too traumatic. However, she's in a new phase of life and doing all that she can to be happy. Welcome to Plathville season 6 just premiered and some interesting developments have surfaced. For example, Kim's now living on a houseboat. See the vessel in the TLC post shown above, via Facebook.

Joshua is still an integral part of Welcome to Plathville, as the Plath family put aside their differences to share their love for him. However, life goes on, and everyone in the cast deserves peace and joy. Yes, even Kim, who's often a difficult woman.
