Being what was a WandaVision has become a complete mystery box full of unanswered questions and hints at what’s to come for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But along with the mind-bending storylines, the show featured top-class performances from not only Paul Bettany and Elizabeth Olsen, but all of the ing cast, who pulled in staggering acts too.
They aren’t all A-list actors either, but from infamous sitcom players to seasoned character actors, the incredible performances have left fans wondering what they’ll be in next. Not only that, but it also leaves open the question of who might return for future MCU features too.
Asif Ali
Asif Ali plays Norm, the character fans see most when cast under Wanda’s spell, and he’s the first glimpse that Vision gets of Wanda’s horrific actions.
Ali is one of the busiest actors in the industry right now. When he isn’t acting in huge hit TV shows like WandaVision or The Mandalorian, he’s voicing characters in BoJack Horseman and Devil May Care. In the coming months, Ali will be featuring in the stoner comedy High Holiday and the romantic drama, Love and Baseball.
Debra Jo Rupp
With WandaVision paying homage to sitcoms, they clearly wanted Debra Jo Rupp for her connection to That '70s Show, and she hadn’t acted in a movie or TV show for two years prior to WandaVision.
Now that WandaVision has come to an end, her schedule has gone quiet again and she doesn’t have any TV or movie projects. However, as she has been predominantly performing in theatre for the past few years, chances are she’ll be returning to the stage soon.
Evan Peters
After being the most theorized part of the entire show, Evan Peters’ projects will at least let him breathe without worrying about theories and spoilers. Peters will be continuing his tenure in quality TV with not just one, but two shows that will have an enormous amount of production value.
First, he’ll be starring in Mare of Easttown, a limited series produced by HBO, and Peters has a role unlike any other in his filmography, as he’ll be playing a detective. Then, the Quicksilver actor will star in season 10 of American Horror Story, which will be the ninth season of the show in which he’s had a main role. There isn’t much confirmed about season 10, not even the season’s theme, but Peters is confirmed to be returning.
Kat Dennings
Fans might have been split about her scenes, but Kat Dennings’ role as Darcy in WandaVision was a vast improvement from when she first portrayed the character in the first two Thor movies, and for the most part, the scenes with Randall Park were hilarious.
Given how effortlessly funny the actress is, her projects make perfect sense. Having the recurring role of Leah Birch in the Netflix adult animated comedy Big Mouth, she’ll continue that with its fifth season, and season two of Dollface is currently in production too, which is a series that Dennings also executive produces.
Randall Park
Playing everyone’s favorite FBI agent and amateur magician, Jimmy Woo, Randall Park’s schedule is fairly empty. He has a voice role in the Paw Patrol: The Movie, and he currently plays himself in Young Rock, a sitcom about the life of Dwayne Johnson.
But most surprisingly, as Park’s first introduction into the MCU was in Ant-Man and the Wasp, the actor/comedian has stated he’s unsure about if his character will return in the Ant-Man: Quantumania. However, as Marvel always keeps its cards close to its chest, and considering how Jimmy Woo and Scott Lang’s chemistry is one of the best things about Ant-Man, it’s almost a shoo-in.
Josh Stamberg
Josh Stamberg is a seasoned TV character actor, often playing people of authority, as he’s starred in The Affair, Parenthood, and has recurring roles in many other shows, but he never had such an advantageous role like he did in WandaVision.
Though he doesn’t have any projects in the pipeline, chances are he’s getting tons more requests to play cops, FBI agents, et al., even more than he used to. On top of that, it’s likely that we haven’t seen the last of Tyler Hayward in the MCU.
Teyonah Parris
Of all the actors in WandaVision, Teyonah Parris has possibly the biggest years of them all. After kicking the year off by playing Monica Rambeau in one of the most popular TV shows of all-time, it’s only going to get bigger, as Parris will be starring in the remake of the horror movie Candyman, and then she’ll be starring in Captain Marvel 2, as well.
But that’s not all, and though there aren’t many details surrounding the movie, Parris will also star in The Cloned Tyrone, a sci-fi comedy where she’ll be acting alongside Jamie Foxx and John Boyega.
Kathryn Hahn
Though it’s theorized that Agatha will have more of a presence in the future, nothing is set in stone right now and as yet, Kathryn Hahn is not set to return to the MCU, even though the likeliness of her returning is off the charts.
However, it isn’t like Hahn is out of work, as later this year she’ll be starring in the Apple TV comedy series, The Shrink Next Door, where she’ll be acting with Will Ferrell and fellow MCU alum, Paul Rudd. On top of that, though she isn’t yet confirmed to be involved, the Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse sequel is now in production, and as Hahn played Olivia Octavius in the first movie, there’s a possibility of her returning for the second movie.
Paul Bettany
After having played the most heroic character of the series, Paul Bettany can take a break from dressing as countless versions of Vision, for the time being, that is. Bettany’s next project will be more grounded, as he’ll be starring in the second season of the anthology series A Very British Scandal, along with Claire Foy.
It was also announced more than a year ago that he’ll be starring in a Russo brothers-directed movie about the Cambridge Analytica scandal, but there haven’t been any updates for a while. And once all that is done, he may very well return as Vision, as Bettany stated he never wants to stop playing him.
Elizabeth Olsen
With the way that WandaVision ended, it comes as no surprise that Olsen will be reprising her role as Wanda in some Marvel movies. In 2022, Wanda will return, probably more evil than ever, in Dr. Strange and the Multiverse of Madness, and that’s just what we know about.
Chances are that she’ll be cropping up here and there in the MCU, especially considering that both Dr. Strange 2 and Spider-Man 3 are tightly linked to WandaVision. Given that Olsen’s slate is pretty clean and she has no projects in the works (except for Dr. Strange), that’s a big hint that she’s going to be a big player in the next few movies.
