Thanks to recently enhanced gameplay footage, first big reveal of the evening.

Despite rumors of the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto 6 being well in development already, Rockstar has decided to go back to the well with its previous title to acclimate to the PS5's significantly more advanced hardware, at least according to one of the studio’s employees. There is already speculation on how that new technology will impact how GTA V looks and performs, with some PC renders giving a possible first look at the 2013 smash hit in next-generation 4K high definition.

Grand Theft Auto V is already one of the most financially successful video games of all time, with a recent free giveaway on the Epic Games Store last month only boosting its impressive fanbase. Even before that, the game was added to Xbox Game back in January, and its online multiplayer component saw much publicity thanks to a strange gang war between different factions of players dressed as aliens a few months ago.

This popularity will likely continue thanks to Grand Theft Auto V’s re-release on the PlayStation 5 next year. The game was already deemed a technical marvel back in 2013, and the new graphical detail demonstrated in the 4K PC footage, especially in the well-rendered facial expressions, makes it look even better. If this video is any indication of Grand Theft Auto V’s visual performance on the PS5, then fans will certainly be in for a treat when they return to Los Santos, or visit it for the first time, when Grand Theft Auto V releases on next-gen consoles in 2021.
