Warning: Spoilers ahead for From season 3, episode 5.

From's cast of characters in season 3 after Tabitha Matthews (Catalina Sandino Moreno) found him in Camden, Maine. Through Tabitha, Henry learns that his son, Victor (Scott McCord), is still alive, leading to Henry ending up in the Town where his wife and children disappeared decades ago.

Henry has already experienced the Town at its most frightening when he arrived at night and only barely escaped From's vicious monsters, although the paramedics he was traveling with were not so lucky. Now that he survived his first night, Henry has begun looking around the Town and is already taking note of incongruous details. One of the most apparent to him is the missing motel, which has been a mystery since the beginning of the series, but now Henry is bringing it to the forefront of the story.

Did The Motel Ever Really Exist In From?

The Sign Has Been There Since Victor's Youth

The Town includes a motel sign and a pool next to it, both of which have been seen since From season 1. However, there has never been a scene featuring an actual motel building to go with the sign and the pool. In the flashbacks to when Victor was a child and saw the Boy in White and the massacred residents, there still was not a motel in the Town, although the sign was still there. This means that if the motel ever did exist, it disappeared or was destroyed long ago, perhaps even before Victor arrived in the Town.

It is worth noting that in Victor's flashbacks, the word "Star Magic" can be seen at the top of the motel sign, but the sign is missing those words in the present day. This part of the sign likely fell off and was never replaced. It is also possible that the Star Magic Motel was a real place and that learning what happened to it will lead to important discoveries about the Town. Since the missing motel is being pointed out by Henry, the building probably did exist, and will be important in episodes or seasons.

Victor's Drawings Hint At What Really Happened To The Motel

He May Have Witnessed Its Destruction

Scott McCord looking sad in From.

Some of Victor's old drawings show people standing on buildings while the town is flooded. Many of the drawings show real places and events, including the lighthouse that Tabitha went to that the Boy of White pushed her out of during the From season 2 ending. These illustrations may reveal that the Town was impacted by a devastating flood and that this natural disaster destroyed the motel. Since the motel is missing in Victor's flashbacks, this would have had to happen earlier on during his time in the Town.

Victor has been trapped in the Town longer than any other surviving character.

Victor determined in From season 3, episode 4 that he needed to find the ventriloquist doll named Jasper to fully important information from the past that is needed in the present. Jasper may have information about the flood or about the motel that could prove useful, which would tie together several threads from the season. Now that Henry has raised the question about the motel, it seems more likely that the building did exist at some point, and that what happened to it will be important in From's future.
