Includes SPOILERS for The Night Agent season 2!
Brittany Snow's Alice experiences a confusing but compelling fate in The Night Agent season 1's ending, season 2 picks up shortly down the line with Peter Sutherland working on an operation in Bangkok, Thailand. There, audiences are introduced to new cast member Brittany Snow, who plays the character Alice, Peter's new Night Agent partner, with whom he seems to have excellent chemistry and who's helping to teach him the ropes of the job.
Brittany Snow was one of the most exciting additions to The Night Agent's season 2 cast, with the actress and singer's previous credits including Pitch Perfect and Ti West's 2022 horror film, X. When it was announced that she was ing the cast, EW reported that Brittany Snow was "a huge fan of season 1," making it all the more exciting to see her not only the show but be involved in the fieldwork as an agent. What may have then come as a surprise to viewers, however, was that her character died in season 2's first action sequence.
Alice Is Killed During The Bangkok Mission In The Night Agent Season 2
Alice Dies Early On In The Night Agent Season 2
The Night Agent season 2's story sees Peter Sutherland sent on his first mission in Bangkok. He's there on the orders of POTUS, though operator Catherine Weaver (Amanda Warren) doesn't believe he's psychologically up to the task, having not been properly trained. On the mission, things seem to be going smoothly as Peter and Alice spot their target, Warren (Teddy Sears), and begin to tail him as he looks for the middleman he's been arranged to do business with related to Foxglove. However, things go awry when Peter and Alice get made.
A shootout and chase sequence breaks out, with Peter and Alice fending for themselves in the streets of Bangkok. On the opposing side is Solomon (Berto Colon), a fixer for the antagonist organization who's looking for the Night Agents. Peter and Alice call in for an extraction, and all seems hopeful once again before Alice is shot in the chest and killed. Peter immediately suspects that someone was working on the inside against them, creating a mystery for season 2, which unravels non-linearly, allowing Alice to return in future episodes depicting the events leading to her death.
How Solomon's Team Used Night Action's Comms To Kill Alice
Solomon's Team Is Tapped Into Night Action's Comms Through Jacob Monroe
The Night Agent season 2 explores the events leading to Alice's death further down the line, revealing that Solomon's team tapped into Peter's comms before the mission even began. This means that they were always going to be steps ahead of them in Bangkok, no matter how well Peter and Alice planned or executed during the operation.
He and Solomon still have access to Peter’s comms in New York in episode 6.
In episode 5, Jacob Monroe mentions that he heard the term "Night Action" over their radio, revealing that he was listening in to the conversation, and was confused because he didn't know about the organization. Jacob Monroe is an incredibly resourceful international businessman, but infiltrating an organization like Night Action is still a challenge. He and Solomon still have access to Peter’s comms in New York in episode 6. For him to do this speaks to his capabilities and general threat throughout the season.
Why Alice's Family Sent Back Her Ashes After Her Death
Night Action Was Alice's True Family
Following Alice’s death, it’s revealed that Night Action sent her ashes to her family as a gesture of respect. However, her family sent the ashes back. While this could be perceived as dismissive or insulting, it’s actually an important gesture that pertains to advice Alice gave Peter in an episode 2 flashback. Alice told Peter to avoid personal relationships, as they often conflict with the secretive and dangerous nature of the job. The fact that her family returned her ashes implies that she abided by this advice herself during her life, with Night Action being her primary family.

The Night Agent Season 1 Recap: 10 Things You Need To Before Season 2
The Night Agent season 1 included so many twists and turns that need to be ed, especially given how some key events directly set up season 2.
Alice’s biological family sends her ashes back to Night Action and Catherine, her found family, with whom she likely spent more time. Catherine was the one who recruited Alice to Night Action, and in a sense, that made them closer than she was with her actual family, especially in the years leading to her death. The Night Agent season 2 explores this story, particularly as it relates to Peter, to demonstrate the sacrifices that come with being part of Night Action, mirroring his and Rose’s romantic struggles. Brittany Snow’s character was fun to see, but her story is more about its metaphor for Peter.
