EDITOR'S NOTE: This article is for Wordle answer #381; the July 6th Wordle answer is available now.
July 5th has another words that end in 'ED' or 'ING' can be particularly difficult since there are so many possible answers that fit that description. Players will quickly run out of guesses just because there could be so many choices. Some players prefer the harder Wordle words though as it gives the brain a good challenge in the morning.
Luckily today's Wordle word isn't anything too difficult, there are no tricks in place for this one. The word is fairly common but does have more uses in the rural areas of the world. For those that do prefer a challenge though Wordle does provide a Hard Mode that can be activated in the options menu. This mode simply locks in previously given clues and forces the players to use the information given. If a letter has been proven correct in a previous answer that letter MUST be used in future guesses, the same applies for letters shown to be incorrect. This stops players from just doing random guesses only to check on certain letters.

Today's Wordle Answer (July 5th #381)
Today's Wordle answer is FIELD.
Definitely not a difficult word, but it could have easily tricked some players with its less than common vowel placement. For our starting Wordle word, we used IRATE which provided a couple of incorrectly placed vowels with 'I' and 'E'. This led us to try BEING for our second guess hoping the common suffix 'ING' would help solve the puzzle. Sadly it only provided a few more wrong letters and more incorrect places for the two vowels we had. Our third attempt was LIVED, this opened up much more by giving us the correct placement for 'I', a correctly placed 'D', and the new letter 'L'. This also left only one possible position for 'E' and led us quickly to a win-in-four with FIELD. Another Wordle daily puzzle solved.
