Wordle words that end with 'ING' or 'ED', there is still a bit of a challenge. It's a bit more of an uncommonly used word unless you're in a certain industry.
For those players who prefer a more difficult game though Wordle does offer a Hard Mode which can be accessed through the options menu before starting any game. This mode makes it a bit more difficult by locking in previously given clues and forcing a player to not waste guesses on frivolous answers that are known to be incorrect. If a letter has previously been proven correct it must be used in all subsequent guesses. The same goes with letters proven incorrect, they are locked out of being used in future guesses. This is a great way to lower the number of guesses it takes to solve the daily puzzle.
Today's Wordle Hints (August 14th #421)
Some players prefer to solve the daily Wordle on their own, but oftentimes it can be overly stressful to keep a win streak going. For those players who just need a little push in the right direction, here are the daily hints followed by today's fully spoiled Wordle answer.
- Hint 1: There is a single repeated letter in today's answer.
- Hint 2: This Wordle word is a dull yellow color.
- Hint 3: Today's answer is one of the two popular colors for Target employees.
Today's Wordle Answer (August 14th #421)
The August 14th Wordle answer is KHAKI.
The classic color of boring, KHAKI is one tricky word to get right. For our starting Wordle word, we used IRATE which provided an incorrectly placed 'I' and a correctly placed 'A'. Our next move was to figure out exactly where that 'I' is going to go in future guesses. For our second guess, we tried to move the 'I' over one space with DIALS, this only provided more incorrect letters and another incorrect spot for 'I'. Our third guess was CHAIN which moved the 'I' to the opposite side of 'A' but still proved incorrect. This guess did provide a correctly placed 'H' which practically gave the whole puzzle away. Knowing where the 'HA' was located and only having one possible spot left for 'I', the obvious answer left was KHAKI which gave us a Wordle win-in-four.
