The Wheel of Time characters confirmed to appear in season 1 of the Amazon original series. In the beginning of Robert Jordan’s books, Logain was depicted as a “false Dragon”, or a man who wrongly claimed to be the Dragon Reborn.
As a man who possessed a great deal of command over the One Power, Logain was considered a great threat to the world, until he was captured and stripped of his abilities by the Aes Sedai. Official photos have revealed the show’s adaptation of the scene where Logain is taken by cage to the White Tower. In the books, it was then that Rand al’Thor first laid eyes on the once-powerful conqueror.
The glimpse provided of him in the Star Wars franchise lost the Force forever.

It’s interesting that Wheel of Time is going in this direction with Logain. First of all, it provides evidence for the character being more important to the beginning of the series than he was in the books, which is something that showrunner Rafe Judkins has already talked about. Plus, actually showing it instead of just talking about it can leave viewers with a better impression of what it means to be gentled, and specifically how it impacted Logain. While it’s a process that’s deemed necessary because of the unstable nature of male channelers, it’s also an incredibly difficult and emotionally devastating experience for a person to go through. Considering that being gentled by the Aes Sedai is a tragic but defining moment for Logain, it makes sense for the series to dive straight into it.
