This puts a lot of pressure on season 2 to succeed, and Great American Family can't really afford to finance a show that doesn't draw in considerable audiences. Unlike other major networks which can test the waters with a show that may sink or swim, GAF is still in its infancy as a player in TV. As it stands now, When Hope Calls is the network's only original series, though they have produced dozens of family-friendly movies. If the ratings for season 2 aren't up to standard, the story of Brookfield will likely be cut short.

Who Will Return To Brookfield In Season 3?

The town of Brookfield has seen a wide range of characters through in the show's two seasons thus far, and it isn't easy to guess who might stick around for season 3. This uncertainty extends to Morgan Kohan's Lilian who may not be the focus of the series going forward. Season 2 introduces a pair of new faces in Cindy Busby's Nora and Christopher Russell's Mountie Michael, and it seems as if they are now taking center stage and will replace the couple of Lilian and RJ Hatanaka's Mountie Gabriel.

This completes a major cast shakeup that began at the end of season 1, and any future seasons of When Hope Calls will probably introduce some new characters to flesh out Brookfield. Nick Bateman ed season 2 as Wyatt, and it's expected that he'll reprise his role alongside Wendy Crewson as Tess Stewart and Hanneke Talbot as Maggie Parsons.

There's Plenty Of Romance & Drama In Brookfield

Predicting the plot of When Hope Calls season 3 is somewhat difficult because the show really hasn't had the chance to establish its season-to-season tone quite yet. Though season 1's finale was an interesting climax, the real-world delays which kept season 2 off the air for so long forced the writers to change course. The same goes for the extended wait for the continuation of season 2, and with so many characters being written out (and written in), things haven't had a chance to settle down yet.

However, Nora and Michael's burgeoning romance won't be without its rough patches, especially as the duo clash over their individual ideologies. The Mountie is very rigid and set in his ways, while Nora is one for pushing boundaries. Fortunately, the orphanage and the safety of Brookfield are two things that will always bring them together, even if times get hard. Speaking of the orphanage, there is an endless well of interesting stories to pull from and When Hope Calls season 3 isn't lacking in potential narrative directions.
