Moondew Nectar is a Nectar, a new Slime food category type introduced in the indie adventure sim Chickens can be raised in a Coop in Slime Rancher 2. However, there is currently no known way to reproduce or grow Moondew Nectar outside of finding it in the wilderness, making it one of the rarest food types on Rainbow Island.
To get Moondew Nectar in Slime Rancher 2, players must travel to the biome of Starlight Strand, located on an island south of the Rainbow Fields. Similar to Ember Valley, this area can only be accessed via teleportation. Fortunately, the portal is not too difficult to find.
Starting from the Conservatory, head southwestward toward the Refinery Link of the Rainbow Fields. In the meadow before the link, go directly south to encounter a Cotton Gordo, the massive immobile variant of the Cotton Slime. This Gordo blocks the secret ageway to the device that unlocks the portal to Starlight Strand in Slime Rancher 2. To remove this significant sentient obstacle, players must feed it the food type that the new Cotton Slimes prefer: Veggies.
Finding Moondew Nectar In Slime Rancher 2
After feeding the Cotton Gordo 30 of any Veggie, such as Carrots or Water Lettuce, it will burst, revealing the tunnel to the portal device that unlocks Starlight Strand. Enter the portal and travel to the new biome. According to YouTube content creator Epokk, the best place to find Moondew Nectar in Slime Rancher 2 is at the very bottom of Starlight Strand, near the Flutter Gordo Slime. Here, players will discover trees and vines that bloom a bluish, violet flower. These flowers typically grow high above the ground and produce Nectar after nightfall.
Luckily, Moondew Nectar tends to roll off the flower and drop onto the forest floor, meaning players usually do not need to fly up and harvest it. Still, adventurers will need to find the Slime resource quickly since wild Slimes will compete to get the Nectar first. Moondew Nectar is the favorite food of the Flutter Slime, a species that spawns on the pink side of Starlight Strand. Accordingly, players will need around 30 stacks of Moondew Nectar to feed the Flutter Gordo in Slime Rancher 2 to uncover the secret it is harboring.
