Lovers of true crime and action movies alike can look forward to lots of options for watching The Order. This tense historical crime thriller stars Jude Law as an FBI agent fighting a militant white-supremacist group called "The Order." With an Oscar-nominated screenwriter (Zach Baylin) and a premise based on a true story from the 1980s, The Order has earned an 86% on Rotten Tomatoes. Early reviews are making a good case for its potential to succeed.
The movie places Jude Law in the lead role of Terry Husk, a real-life person who worked as an FBI agent. The Order's trailer shows Husk traveling across the Pacific Northwest as he hunts down white-supremacist militia-leader Bob Matthews, played by Nicholas Hoult. All this is set against a backdrop of bombings, bank robberies, and a plot to overthrow the US government. Audiences will be able to watch The Order in theaters starting December 6 and it will likely be available to stream within a reasonable time frame.

Although The Order was originally released at the Venice Film Festival in August, it will have an exclusive theatrical release through Vertical, starting December 6, 2024. Vertical has plans to release nearly two dozen movies this year, though not all of them get theatrical releases. Despite the limited release of The Order, the star-studded cast and intense subject matter are likely to give it a leg up at the box office. Due to the limited release plan, it may not be available everywhere and may be in theaters for a shorter time in comparison to major films.

When Will The Order Release On Streaming?
The Order Will Stream On Amazon Prime Video
Although we do not yet have a confirmed date, The Order is set to stream on Amazon Prime Video. The limited theatrical release of The Order combined with an existing deal with Prime suggests that the movie should be available to stream sooner rather than later, however. This is despite the fact that Vertical has no widespread deals guaranteeing the release of its movies onto major streaming services.
When Will The Order Release On Digital?
A Shorter Wait Is Expected
Some additional good news is that a shorter wait is expected for the digital release of The Order. Vertical has several recent examples of films being released digitally less than a month after a theatrical release, including Your Monster and Lee. This means that The Order could release as early as late December or January 2025. Given the limited theatrical release and the promise of a deal with Amazon, the easiest way to watch The Order might be this promised release through Amazon Prime.
