Before there was SHIELD in the Marvel Cinematic Universe timeline, there was the SSR. The Strategic Scientific Reserve featured such accomplished spies as Peggy Carter, and consultants like Howard Stark. In the 1940s and '50s, the characters found themselves embroiled in plenty of world-saving plots, but the MCU audience only got to see them in action for two seasons before Agent Carter was canceled.

With the constant race to save the world and bring bad guys to justice, not many Agent Carter characters had time to check their horoscopes. Most of them likely wouldn't even put much stock in a zodiac sign giving insight into their personality. For fans of the show, however, the characters fit pretty easily amongst the twelve signs of the zodiac.

Aries: Peggy Carter

Aries has a reputation for being the most impulsive sign of the zodiac, and while that can be true, it doesn't have to be. What fuels an impulsive nature for a lot of Aries is ion, whether it's for a person or a cause, and that's what fuels Peggy Carter as well. She's one of the few Agent Carter characters the audience has a canon birthday for. Her April 9 birthday makes her an Aries.

Peggy is a woman who wants to make a difference in the world. She isn't out to prove that she's the best investigator or the best spy, but instead just wants to get the job done. She wants to make sure people are safe, and Peggy doesn't allow any kind of fear to stop her from doing just that.

Taurus: Edwin Jarvis

A Taurus is a creature of habit. They like their routines and don't take kindly to people disrupting them. That's why Jarvis finds it so difficult initially to head out with Peggy Carter to investigate his employer being framed. Jarvis would much rather be at home, checking on the soufflé, and watching his programs with his wife.

Of course, Taurus is also a sign that has a healthy appreciation for the luxurious and the creative. They tend to be lovers of art and theater. While the audience doesn't necessarily see Jarvis appreciate art, he does appreciate a well-tailored suit. He even has a leisure tie.

Gemini: Rose Roberts

Rose is a charmer. When the series moves to Los Angeles in the second season, she and Peggy quickly become friends. If she wasn't a spy hiding the nature of her job, Rose would likely be a social butterfly.

Geminis are social creatures, so it makes sense that Rose would be one. Geminis are also chameleons, able to adapt to change and blend in with new social groups pretty effortlessly. Rose is just as capable working behind a desk for the SSR as she is in the field, showing that ability to adapt as needed.

Cancer: Daniel Sousa

Marvel fans got a little extra of Daniel Sousa as the character didn't just appear in Agent Carter. He also appears in the final season of Agents of SHIELD, which is where the audience learns his birthday in canon, as it's listed in his file as July 22. That makes him a Cancer on the cusp of Leo.

Cancers are often thought of as the most emotional of the zodiac because they're very in touch with their feelings - but also the feelings of others. They might put up a wall when it comes to themselves, but they see the good in others and make friends fast. That's why Daniel is so quick to see how Peggy is undervalued by the rest of the SSR in the first season, and quick to work with SHIELD in Agents of SHIELD.

Leo: Howard Stark

Howard Stark, like Peggy Carter, makes his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in Captain America: The First Avenger, but the audience gets to see him on the run for a crime he didn't commit in the Agent Carter series. While Peggy's busy trying to clear his name, Howard is busy having more fun than he is hiding out, which is the true spirit of the Leo.

Leo's love to be the center of attention, and they love to be the best in their field. Howard, with his immense scientific knowledge, hates the idea that someone is able to frame him - or use his inventions more creatively than he can. He pops up every so often in the series to make things just a little more difficult for the SSR or lend a hand, depending on his mood, and make sure no one has forgotten about him.

Virgo: Jason Wilkes

Jason Wilkes is methodical and tries to be prepared for anything, even if that's not always possible. Both of those traits are that of a Virgo.

In fictional situations, it's often easy to find Virgos in the roles of scientists or teachers as the roles require meticulous planners who do their work because they care about others. Those Virgo traits are easy to see in a scientist like Wilkes, who ends up caught in a state of intangibility, but still tries to help the SSR figure out a way to fix it.

Libra: Jack Thompson

Libras have the charm of a Gemini, but the leadership skills of a Capricorn. They often work best, however, when paired with a partner. That might be why Jack Thompson so often finds himself making bad decisions. He doesn't have someone to lean on.

Jack can charm his way in and out of difficult situations most of the time, and he wants to be the person calling the shots in the SSR. Unfortunately for him, he didn't find a partnership that truly allowed him to excel. The closest he came was working with Sousa.

Scorpio: Dottie Underwood

It's tempting to say that Dottie is a Gemini because of her chameleon-like nature born from her spy training. Unlike Rose, however, Dottie isn't the same charmer, and she's not a social butterfly. Her tendency to adapt is a result of her desire to get a job done - or to secure her freedom.

Dottie is a much better fit for Scorpio. Scorpios don't like to let too much information about themselves slip, but are good at getting information out of others. They're also often good at solving puzzles, and they don't let anyone stand in the way of what they want. That sounds an awful lot like Dottie as she desires to stay one step ahead of Peggy and be as ired as her.

Sagittarius: Angie Martinelli

While Angie longs for the spotlight like a Leo and has the charm of a Gemini, ultimately, she makes the best fit for Sagittarius. Sagittarius is often known as the sign with a sense of wanderlust, the sign always looking for their next big adventure. They're also honest to a fault, which makes sense with Angie's blunt approach to any conversation with Peggy.

Angie's a dreamer, but she goes after her dreams with measured and pretty practical steps, like a Sagittarius planning the perfect trip.

Capricorn: Whitney Frost

Whitney Frost is a dreamer too, but her dreams aren't about performing, but about people seeing how smart she really is. Whitney has ambition, and she allies herself with dangerous people to achieve them.

That ambition, and Whitney's hard work to achieve her goals, is most in line with a Capricorn. So is her intense loyalty to the handful of people who have actually helped her instead of hindered her success.
