The White Lotus season 3 continued the Golden Globe-winning anthology drama's hot streak, and proved to be its most exciting outing yet. Although initially a limited series, the popularity and acclaim of the social dramedy turned The White Lotus into an ongoing anthology. Each season takes place at a different White Lotus resort around the world. Season 1, set in Hawaii, was mostly about class division, bringing into sharp focus the economic disparities and exploitation that fuel the hospitality industry.

The White Lotus season 3 moved to a new location after season 2, set in Sicily, tilted its attention slightly, spotlighting the marital troubles and transactional relationships between its vacationers. The ending of The White Lotus season 2 still delivered the same twists (and shocking deaths) as its predecessor, which helped set the tone for season 3. When the third outing did finally arrive, The White Lotus season 3 managed to somehow top its predecessors while still keeping with the usual formula that Mike White has used in each outing thus far.

The White Lotus Season 3 Critical Reception

A Divided But Positive Reception To Season 3

Walton Goggins in The White Lotus season 3

Unlike the first two seasons, which garnered almost universal acclaim, The White Lotus season 3 had some major detractors. Though the third season still holds an impressive Rotten Tomatoes score in the high 80s, it's a bit of a dip from its predecessors. BBC pointed out that the season dragged on and lacked the same harsh satire that typified the first two seasons, while Forbes went as far as to say it was actually bad overall. However, Variety felt that the satisfying ending was enough to justify the "wandering path" that the third season took.

The White Lotus season 3 concluded on April 6, 2025.

Who Dies In The End?

Two White Lotus employees walk together in The White Lotus season 3

Though the deaths at the end of season 3 were shocking, they were also packed with symbolic meaning

Each season of The White Lotus ends by revealing whose corpse is seen at the beginning, and season 3 was no exception to this pattern. Though the deaths at the end of season 3 were shocking, they were also packed with symbolic meaning which elevated them beyond a simple shocking twist. Usually, the deaths in The White Lotus are meant to subvert audience expectations, but instead, season 3 went for the gusto by showing one character face the consequences of their choices (and their impact on those close to them).
