Newt Scamander is the main character in the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them series - and the author of the titular in-universe book - but who does he marry after the events of the series? The Fantastic Beasts series takes place in the 1920s and 1930s, over 70 years before Harry Potter. As Newt is confirmed to survive past the events of the series, even said to be retired in the 1990s when Harry Potter takes place, it is safe to assume Newt settled down with someone at some point.
One thing the first two Fantastic Beasts movies seemed to focus on with Newt was his relationships. First, Newt met Tina Goldstein - who is missing from Fantastic Beasts 3 - in New York, and the two had a mutual, yet awkward, attraction towards each other. However, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald introduced Leta Lestrange, Newt's childhood best friend, and first love. So who does Newt marry in Fantastic Beasts?
It is confirmed that Newt eventually ends up marrying Tina Goldstein. Tina, played by Katherine Waterston, was Newt's love interest throughout the first and second films. Despite this, her character was sidelined for the third film, Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore. Tina only had a few brief minutes of screen time in the most recent film, meaning her and Newt's relationship wasn't expanded on in any meaningful way. Also, given Newt's relationship with Leta tended to take precedence in the second film, it is really only Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them that has showcased Newt and Tina's bond. That being said, it is canon to the Wizarding World universe that Newt and Tina do end up together, having at least one child. Their grandchild, Rolf Scamander, grew up to marry Luna Lovegood, a prominent character from the Harry Potter series.
It is unfortunate, however, that Newt and Tina's relationship has been told to audiences rather than shown. Again, with their bond not being a focus of the previous two movies, their relationship is seemingly an afterthought to the writers of Fantastic Beasts, especially given Tina's minimal screen time in the latest installment. Also, with Fantastic Beasts 3's underperformance at the box office, it is unlikely the final two Fantastic Beasts movies will even be produced.
This means that Tina and Newt's wedding may not actually be shown onscreen, should the final two movies not be released. It would be a shame not to see this happen, as Newt and Tina are two of the more endearing original characters of the Fantastic Beasts movies up to this point. The franchise has certainly had an issue balancing these newer characters with legacy characters like Dumbledore and Grindelwald. Despite this, should Fantastic Beasts 4/5 not happen, at least Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them showcases the relationship between Newt Scamander, and his future wife in Tina Goldstein in a memorable way.
