While actor Kevin Sussman only appeared in FBI season 7’s finale, episode 22, "A New Day,” was a typically fast-paced affair that provided the series with some of its most high-stakes drama ever. However, the procedural also found time for an appearance from a guest star, and the recognizable actor was plucked from the more light-hearted world of network sitcoms.

The plot of "A New Day” saw the anti-government terrorist group Forefront infiltrate the titular organization, killing numerous agents by planting tiny explosives in their cellphones. While the FBI season 7 finale’s cliffhanger ending saw Isobel fall victim to a mysterious illness after Forefront was defeated, this wasn’t the first unexpected death in the episode. Earlier in "A New Day,” guest star Kevin Sussman played Agent Kevin Saxton, a whistleblower who alerted the FBI team to Forefront’s plans. Saxton came across Forefront’s plan to attack 26 Fed and alerted Jubel, but Saxton was assassinated before he could say anything more.

This death left Jubal with more questions than ever, and his survival of the event cast suspicion on him. Viewers later learned that Keene was one of the moles and Forefront was working with China to destabilize American institutions like the eponymous FBI, but Kevin, the Department of Defense whistleblower, was long dead by this stage. Fortunately, fans of this actor won’t need to go far to find more appearances from Sussman.

In the late ‘90s and early ‘00s, Sussman appeared in notable movies such as Almost Famous, Wet Hot American Summer, Sweet Home Alabama, and Will Smith’s underrated 2005 rom-com Hitch. On TV, Sussman had minor parts in everything from Law & Order: Criminal Intent to ER to The Sopranos. However, Sussman’s breakthrough TV role came in Ugly Betty, where he played Walter. This was followed by his role as Stuart Bloom in The Big Bang Theory.
