Stranger Things season 4’s Eddie Munson is played by British actor Joseph Quinn, with the hit Netflix series being his mainstream breakout role. Before starring as the Satanic panic suspect in Stranger Things season 4, Joseph Quinn’s roles were primarily confined to TV series on BBC One or HBO. Alongside short stints on shows like Dickensian, Howards End, Les Misérables, and Catherine the Great, Quinn made a notable appearance in the Game of Thrones season 7 episode “The Spoils of War,” where he played Koner, a soldier sworn to House Stark. While Quinn isn’t rocking his Stranger Things ‘80s metal hair, he can be seen trying to turn away Arya Stark from the gates of Winterfell before she finally reunites with Sansa.

Joe Quinn as Eddie Munson in Stranger Things Season 4

Although Joseph Quinn wasn’t subject to a three-year gap between Stranger Things seasons 3 and 4 to extend the age difference between himself and his character, the actor’s age gap from Eddie is one of the biggest of the season. Since Eddie mentions that he was originally supposed to graduate from Hawkins High in spring 1984, which occurs shortly after the timeline of Stranger Things season 1, the character is approximately 20 years old in Stranger Things season 4, whereas Joseph Quinn is 29 at the time the season debuts. This matches up closer to the age gap between beloved Stranger Things babysitter Steve Harrington, whose actor Joe Keery is approximately 10-11 years older than his character.

At the time of writing, Quinn isn’t lined up for any projects after Stranger Things season 4, but the actor will be back to clear up more of the series’ mysteries in season 4, volume 2. If Eddie survives Stranger Things season 4, the actor will at least be back for Stranger Things season 5, which will mark the Netflix show’s final installments. While Stranger Things season 4 may have added too many characters to properly track, Joseph Quinn’s Eddie Munson has been a welcome addition to the fight against the Upside Down.
