Warning: SPOILERS ahead for The Book of Boba Fett episode 6!

Star Wars shows. With Pedro Pascal's Din Djarin still at the forefront after his return in The Book of Boba Fett episode 5, the whereabouts of Luke and Grogu was finally revealed.

In newly-constructed Naboo Starfighter, Din arrived at the location of Luke's future Jedi Academy, but he never got a chance to reunite with Grogu. As Luke was busy teaching Grogu the ways of the Force, Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson) convinced Din that strengthened attachment could make Grogu's training more difficult. Though Din left without directly meeting with Grogu, the Mandalorian left behind his gift: beskar armor crafted specifically for the foundling.

Unlike Luke's brief yet memorable appearance in The Mandalorian, the Jedi Master was given a larger presence in The Book of Boba Fett. However, with the expanded screen time came more filming challenges. For The Mandalorian season 2 finale, Mark Hamill reprised his iconic Star Wars role, but only in a limited fashion. Aside from special effects used to de-age Hamill to play his 28-year-old self, Max Lloyd-Jones served as Luke's stand-in. As for the character's voice, series creator Jon Favreau and his team used a synthesizer to match what Hamill's voice would have sounded like four decades prior. Interestingly, Hamill returned once again to play Luke in The Book of Boba Fett, but it took more VFX work.

According to the credits at the end of The Book of Boba Fett episode 6, Mark Hamill returned to play Luke Skywalker. Granted, a few others played a part in bringing a young Luke back to life in the Star Wars show. This time around, Scott Lang was listed as the stunt double for Luke, although he was credited as the "Jedi." In addition, Graham Hamilton served as the performance artist. It's not surprising multiple figures were involved in Luke's role for The Book of Boba Fett, considering the character was more active in this appearance as he trained Grogu. Not only did Luke show his physical control of the Force, but he also displayed his lightsaber expertise. Though Lloyd-Jones wasn't used as the stand-in this time around, he did appear in the previous episode, playing Lieutenant Reed.

Luke's de-aged appearance caught some criticism following his appearance in The Mandalorian. There was even a push for Star Wars to recast Luke with a younger actor like Sebastian Stan. Granted, the VFX work in The Book of Boba Fett looked to be more in line with fan expectations. However, even with smoother CGI de-aging, there were still Return of the Jedi.
