One Animal Crossing: New Horizons player caught their villager in a bad mood, but that very quickly changed when they noticed the player nearby. As every Animal Crossing: New Horizons island can have up to 10 villagers, players are often somewhat picky about who they'd like to choose to keep as a permanent resident. With each character having their own personality type, from Sporty to Peppy, there's something to love about every unique animal.

Sharing a sweet video on Reddit, the player idreamofstrawberries stumbled across one of their villager's villagers, Teddy, in quite a bad mood. Stomping his feet and with smoke steaming from his ears, the villager couldn't have been more unhappy. But as he got closer to the player watching him on the game's in-game camera, Teddy's face lightened up into a giant smile and enthusiastic wave.

The sweet video captured by idreamofstrawberries shows Animal Crossing: New Horizons in-game camera closely panned onto their villager Teddy. As he walks around in a strop with his fishing rod over his shoulder, the player watches on from nearby in amusement at his little tantrum. That is, however, until Teddy marches towards the player and realizes they're nearby, quickly brightening up his mood entirely.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons disappointed many players by not offering new content or quality-of-life updates, but that's precisely its point.

As the sweet orange bear looks into the camera smiling and waving, the player is delighted to have captured such a wholesome moment from the character interacting with them. With all the Animal Crossing: New Horizons villagers capable of showing different emotions as they wander around the player's island, it's always nice to see how these can change as the player comes nearby. Some dialogue even changes depending on the villager's differing moods, so making such a big difference to a character's mood can feel very heartwarming.

We Just Wish They Had More

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is packed with hundreds of potential villagers and the island space for 10 at a time, allowing players to find their permanent favorites or cycle out many over time to meet them all. With such differing personality types and interactions with the player across the board, the player can experience a variety of sweet opportunities to engage with every animal. However, despite there being so many differing types of villagers, many of the personality types can often feel the exact same.

With most Peppy villagers giving very similar dialogue, for example, players might feel a little disappointed that each character isn't slightly more unique. Previous games like Animal Crossing: New Leaf saw a lot more diverse interaction, and it's unfortunate that Animal Crossing: New Horizons isn't the same. With that said, there are still many sweet interactions that the game does offer, and plenty of adorably designed characters to love regardless.
