Harry's decision to kill Richie Stevenson's henchman Freddie Shaw in the most recent episode of real identity of Janet McTeer's Kat McAllister also remains a mystery, Freddie's brief rendezvous with Harry yielded some forward progress in the never-ending paranoia that permeates the Harrigan crime empire.
Although Vron Stevenson is dead, Harry still has the photos of Vron and Freddie, and can deliver them to Richie at any time, so he was still able to pull information out of Freddie despite the henchman claiming he was "out" of Richie's operation. After Harry persuaded him to provide information by telling a half-truth about the fact that Maeve is now running the Harrigan criminal organization, Freddie revealed that one of the Harrigans has been working with Richie all along. The identity of the rat occurred off-screen, and resulted in Freddie's swift and shocking death.
Harry Killed Freddie To Protect Himself
Freddie Became Nothing More Than A Liability
As soon as Freddie revealed that he knew about a rat in the Harrigan family, he effectively signed his own death warrant. From that point forward, he became nothing more than a liability for Harry. While it was handy having someone in Richie's inner circle he could draw knowledge from, Harry knew that Freddie simply knew too much by that point. He could come clean to Richie or the Harrigans' rat at any moment, which would essentially condemn Harry for knowing about the rat but choosing not to tell Conrad.

Freddie had also just proven how easily he could be convinced to talk. Despite the leverage that Harry had on him and the sheer violence and menace of Richie looming over him, Freddie offered up information incredibly easily. Knowing what he knew, it made no sense for Harry to send him back to the Stevensons even if it meant he kept an operational mole in the organization feeding him information. Once Harry got the details of Richie's fentanyl operation out of him, Freddie became a greater risk than an asset, plain and simple.
Freddie's Reveal Before His Death Is Now One Of MobLand's Big Questions
One Of The Harrigans Has Been Working With Richie All Along
As valuable as the fentanyl operation details were, the reveal that one of the Harrigans has been working with Richie is obviously the most significant bit of information to come out of Harry's final meeting with Freddie. That essentially becomes the biggest question in the entirety of MobLand: who is the rat in Conrad's operation? There are plenty of characters with motivation, as Conrad's depravity over the decades has made him plenty of enemies, perhaps most predominantly in his own family. Maeve, Bella, Jan, and even Kevin all have legitimate reasons to want Conrad dead.
Based on the context of Freddie's reveal, it seems safe to rule out at least a few names.
Based on the context of Freddie's reveal, it seems safe to rule out at least a few names. The rat is clearly not Harry, otherwise it would essentially offset his leverage over Freddie, and he'd have had no reason to tell Harry what he wanted to know. Harry also lies that he and Kevin are taking over the Harrigans' operations, and if it was Kevin it seems like Freddie would have addressed it more directly.

MobLand Is Finally Addressing The Biggest Problem With Tom Hardy's Harry Story
It took a few episodes to get there, but episode 6 of MobLand finally began to address a major issue for Tom Harry's character Harry Da Souza.
The most obvious candidate right now is actually Maeve; we know that she's already comfortable helping Richie if it means hurting Conrad, as she willingly risked her own son's life to end Seraphina's. Conrad's decades of infidelity could certainly drive a proud woman like Maeve to commit the ultimate betrayal. Perhaps most importantly, Maeve thinks she is the smartest person in the room at all times, and certainly believes she could run things better than Conrad. The end of season 1 of MobLand will certainly address it, but as things stand, Maeve seems like the rat in the Harrigan family.
