Though he has fallen out of favor in recent years due to his involvement in the infamous 2022 Oscars slap, TV series The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, which ran from 1990 to 1996. In 1997, he broke into greater prominence when he acted in the first of the Men in Black movies.

A lot of Smith's work has been attached to major action franchises, including the Bad Boys movies, but this is not the case for all of his work. Smith has also been in a series of one-off films that have been quite successful. His 2021 film, King Richard, ended up earning Smith his first and only (so far) win for Best Actor, after having been nominated twice before (for The Pursuit of Happyness and Ali). Now, a one-off animated movie starring Smith has hit the streaming charts.

Oscar ends up teaming with a shark to pretend that he killed the son of a shark mob boss. In addition to Smith, the movie featured a leading cast including Robert De Niro, Angelina Jolie, Renée Zellweger, Angelina Jolie, Jack Black, and Martin Scorsese. What This Means For Shark Tale And Will Smith

Smith's Popularity May Be Reviving

Shark Tale's newfound success may prove the audience's renewed interest in Smith. The Oscar winner recently participated in a viral dance trend, jiving to the song "Anxiety" by Doechii. Smith's dance has been viewed millions of times. His franchise film Bad Boys: Ride or Die also did well at the box office last year, despite the controversy associated with the actor. There are other reasons, of course, that Shark Tale may be doing well on streaming, such as strong audience interest in animated movies. But it could be a sign that Smith is having a career revival.
