ABC's quirky police procedural Will Trent has already impressed in its first two seasons thus far, and season3 did not disappoint. Based on the best-selling books by Karin Slaughter, Will Trent follows the titular Georgia Bureau of Investigations Special Agent who is known, and envied, for his impossibly high case clearance rate. After exposing corruption within the Atlanta Police Department, Will not only has to solve cases but has to further root out the bad elements in local law enforcement.
Scoring high marks with critics right off the bat, Will Trent separates itself from the usual police procedural by investing so much in the characters and their complicated relationships. Shows like Will Trent are rare, and it brilliantly used its premiere season to build upon the fascinating story threads that were introduced early on. Season 2 is where ABC's latest hit found its footing, and it continued its momentum with a successful season 3, resulting in Will Trent getting renewed for a fourth season.

Will Trent Season 3 Critical Reception
Season 3 Maintained The Show's High Quality
While many network shows with unique premises fail to maintain a longstanding interest, Will Trent is still going strong in season 3. The show's audience score on Rotten Tomatoes saw a significant dip, with a Popcornmeter of 74% — compared to season 1's 89% and season 2's 85% — but that's still a decent score. RT doesn't boast many critical reviews for Will Trent season 3, but the ones it has point to a continuation of the show's high quality. ScreenRant noted that the shocking cliffhangers in the season 3 finale make anticipation for the confirmed season 4 even higher.

However, the most exciting addition to the cast was Yul Vazquez as Sheriff Caleb Broussard, who is revealed to be Will's biological father, a storyline expected to continue in season 4.
