Windows 11 is Microsoft's latest desktop operating system that was rolled out last year as a free update over Windows 10. It is primarily an iterative update over its predecessor but comes with a refreshed look and several useful changes under the hood. Some notable changes include a centered Start Menu, for Android apps, integrated Microsoft Teams, improved gaming with Auto HDR and DirectStorage, better virtual desktop , and more. The 22H2 rollout was the first major update for Windows 11 since its release last year. It brought several changes to the OS, including Taskbar drag-and-drop, better Start menu customization options, a new Task Manager, and more. However, it doesn't include much-wanted features like tabs in File Explorer.

According to Microsoft, 'Enhanced Phishing Protection' in Windows 11 works in the background to automatically detect when a name and are typed into what Microsoft determines to be an unsafe app or website. If that happens, Windows will send a message to the , asking them to change their to protect themselves from hackers and cyber-criminals.

The new feature will also check whether the s used in apps and websites is the same as the one used to to Windows. If there's a match, Windows will warn s to change the matching s into something strong, safe and unique in each case. It is generally advisable to use separate and unique s for different apps, websites and devices to ensure that online s remain safe from potential hijacking attempts.

Microsoft's phishing protection software is based on its own SmartScreen technology and is available to retail consumers and enterprise s.
