If Geralt from so Geralt would definitely have to change occupations if he wanted to survive in this very different world.

in Nilfgaard and the rest of the Continent? Surely, he would have a much easier time combating his foes and the supernatural forces that are always at play.

Venusaur

Venusaur Pokemon

Out of the original three starter Pokémon, it is pretty likely that Geralt would choose Bulbasaur. One of the main attributes of the Witcher is his ability to concoct potions and remedies for different healing salves and things to aid him in battle. This is also a really big element to the games, as the player runs around the world collecting different herbs to use. Venusaur would be the perfect company for Geralt for this reason. The Pokémon would not only help the Witcher in battle but also with his remedies and potions.

Jirachi

Jirachi smiles while floating in the mountains

Jirachi is a special Pokémon. Not only are they totally adorable and loveable (something that may contrast Geralt's harsh demeanor) but this little Pokémon also has the ability to grant wishes. The story of The Witcher heavily surrounds the fact that Geralt wished on a Djinn in order to save Yennifer's life. This happens within the first book of the series, The Last Wish, which the Netflix series is also based on. The games also focus on this wish made that bound the two as Geralt and Yennifer continue to find their lives intertwined by one another. Fans don't actually know what the wish is as it is never clearly said, but if he had made the wish on Jirachi instead of the Djinn, things would probably be a lot more simple.

Blaziken

Blaziken is another excellent starter Pokémon for Geralt. Geralt could definitely use some more force on his side, and Blaziken is the perfect fighter for the job. Not only does Blaziken have fire, which Geralt could always use more of, he is also a fighting-type Pokémon.

Sometimes Geralt gets bested by monsters and people he faces, and though he seems to always come out on top, it wouldn't hurt to have another ally in his corner. While Geralt swings his sword around, Blaziken would definitely have his back through it all.

Psyduck

Psyduck holding it head with both hands in the Pokémon anime

Geralt's relationship with his Psyduck would most likely be very similar to a mental bomb to his enemies (like an amplified Aard), which Geralt would be able to block using his Quen ability.

Rapidash

Rapidash Pokemon

Roach has a special soft spot in Geralt's heart unlike any other character in The Witcher. Realistically, Geralt probably cares more about Roach than can run up to 150 miles per hour, meaning Geralt would get pretty much anywhere he wanted to go incredibly fast. The horse also leaves a trail of flames which just seems to fit nicely with Geralt's aesthetic.

Ditto

Ditto Pokemon

Ditto would probably be an odd choice for Geralt at first, but once he learns how to use the Pokémon to his advantage, it is likely Geralt would use them in combat all the time. Ditto would have the ability to change into any of the monsters Geralt fights. This means he can both study the beasts pre-battle and have an upper hand in combatting them since werewolf versus werewolf and Geralt is a lot more of a challenge than just werewolf versus Geralt.

Umbreon & Espeon

Umbreon and Espeon Pokemon

Though Umbreon and Espeon are two different Pokémon, the combo would be a near-perfect duo for Geralt. Umbreon is a dark Pokémon and would probably enjoy fighting alongside Geralt, while Espeon is a Psychic who can predict their foes next move, making them a great ally in combat.

The pair are also reminiscent of Yennifer, the witch who uses dark and psychic magic to get her way and defeat her foes. These two eeveeloutions are the perfect choice to match Geralt's aesthetic.

Houndoom

Houndoom is another Pokémon that seems to perfectly match Geralt and his aesthetic. This dog Pokémon is both a dark and fire type and resembles a hellhound. Houndoom looks like the kind of dog Geralt would greatly enjoy as he hunts monsters and would be an excellent companion in any kind of battle as this dog spews flames that are mixed with poison to subdue their enemies. They are also great pack animals and would likely see Geralt as their alpha.

Mismagius

Mismagius is a newer ghost-type Pokémon that seems to be the perfect fit for Geralt's team. This Pokémon is feared for its wrath and curses and probably would be the kind of beast that Geralt himself would hunt before allying with Mismagius. Once befriended, this Pokémon casts protecting spells that help people so it will most likely aid Geralt in all of his tasks whether it be by offense or defense.

Lucario

Lucario about to use Aura Sphere in The Pokémon Movie.

Lucario is a steel and fighting type Pokémon who controls the waves of aura to take down their prey. In a sense, they are like a Witcher of the Pokémon world. Lucario would be a perfect companion for Geralt as the two are pretty similar to one another. Lucario would also be able to telepathically communicate with Geralt so that they never have a misunderstanding. Lucario would likely be Geralt's main Pokémon and would aid him throughout his monster hunting.
