Soulcalibur VI. Soulcalibur has a long history of having guest fighters from other video games or popular properties appear in its weapon-based fighting game. However, Geralt of Rivia AKA the White Wolf is the latest and most exciting combatant.

Since Soulcalibur II - which saw Link from Legend of Zelda, Heihachi Mishima from Tekken and The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt.

The developer of Soulcalibur VI, Bandai Namco made the announcement of Geralt's entry into the series themselves with a rather lengthy reveal trailer. Geralt's appearance in Soulcalibur has been rumored for a few weeks. After the Community Lead of CD Projekt Red Marcin Momot teased Geralt making a cameo in a game outside The Witcher (the new Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo Switch. Now it has been confirmed that Geralt will be in Soulcalibur VI and he looks perfectly at home.

Geralt translates pretty well to Soulcalibur series, as all fighters in the game battle with some type of melee weapon. Geralt will bring his famous two-sword fighting technique to Soulcalibur VI. However, he's also bringing some other tricks. Geralt will be able to use his famous Signs, The Witcher equivalent of spells and magic. Thankfully, Geralt will continue to be voiced by actor Doug Cockle as well. There will be no knock-off of his signature gravel in Soulcalibur IV.

In addition, Geralt's entry into the fighting series will come with his own fighting stage, Kaer Morhen.  For those who are uninitiated in Witcher lore, Kaer Morhen features heavily in the game and serves as the home base for Geralt and his fellow brotherhood of Witchers. Witchers are a group of supernaturally enhanced monster hunters and protectors. Think Jedi without the restrictions on romance.

The Jedi comparison is particularly apt as the Soulcalibur has also seen guest characters from the galaxy far, far away. Yoda, Darth Vader and Starkiller from The Force Unleashed all appeared in Soulcalibur IV. The series had to bend over backwards to attempt to explain how the Jedi and Sith got involved in the series. It takes much less effort to explain how Geralt will appear in Soulcalibur VI.

Geralt, not only looks like many of the other fighters in Soulcalibur, his franchise has a long history of dimension hopping. The Witcher book series written by Andrzej Sapkowski, which inspired the games, dive into several science fiction elements. It's was implied several times that Ciri, Geralt's surrogate daughter, had managed to hop to our universe and time in the books. Therefore, it's completely plausible that Geralt could find himself in the Soulcalibur universe. In fact, Geralt's guest appearance might be the most natural cameo ever for the series.

Although it should be mentioned that there's almost no way Geralt's appearance will be classified as canon in any sense. The Witcher video game series is over for the forseeable future and it's unlikely the Netflix series, which will adapt the Witcher books, will make even a ing reference to Geralt's time in Soulcalibur. Still, the addition is fun and an exciting announcement for fans dying for more Witcher gaming that they may never receive.
