Wolfs star George Clooney shares a tantalizing tease about his movie collaboration with Brad Pitt. Directed by Jon Watts, the crime thriller tells the story of two fixers who are tasked with completing the same job, with Clooney and Pitt playing the leads. The two actors memorably starred together in Steven Soderbergh's Ocean's franchise from 2001 to 2007, with Wolfs, a deliberate misspelling, marking the two stars' first feature film collaboration since 2008's Burn After Reading, and is set for release September 20th, 2024.
Now, with Wolfs release date still many months away, Clooney teases to Total Film (via GamesRadar) what audiences can expect from the movie. While careful to not give too much away, the actor shares that, tonally, the film will have something in common with the Ocean's franchise. Check out Clooney's full comment below:
"Uh… It’s a really good movie. I love this guy, Jon Watts. What a director. It’s out there. We just did a screening of it, and the place kind of went batshit for it. So, we’re excited about it. We think it’s a really fun, dark – very dark – nutty film… It feels like an R-rated Ocean’s film."
Clooney Ryan Gosling and Margot Robbie prequel) could be in the cards, revealing that a strong script has been written.

Why Ocean's Fourteen Starring George Clooney & Brad Pitt Never Happened
A new Ocean’s Eleven movie, Ocean’s Fourteen starring George Clooney and Brad Pitt, never came to fruition and there’s a sad reason why.
What To Expect From Wolfs
A Dark 'Nutty' Comedy With A Theatrical Release
Beyond the initial logline, very little information has been officially revealed about Wolfs. The movie was first announced back in 2021, with Apple snatching up the rights and Sony now poised to handle theatrical distribution. This means that, unlike many streamer-backed movies these days, Wolfs will be getting a theatrical release.
Watts' involvement as director is also not particularly revealing, with the filmmaker best known for helming Tom Holland's MCU Spider-Man trilogy. Outside of his work in the superhero genre, Watts directed a horror movie called Clown in 2014 and Cop Car, a crime thriller starring Kevin Bacon, in 2015. Cop Car, combined with Watts' directorial work on two episodes of The Old Man, at the very least, suggests that the filmmaker has a handle on the crime thriller genre with slightly older movie stars. And of course, Pitt and Clooney are well known for their work in this genre as well. Of the seven movies and specials they have collaborated on, all but two have similar elements (the two exceptions being a TV special tribute and a TV movie of a play about Proposition 8).

In addition to Clooney and Pitt, the Wolfs cast includes Amy Ryan, Austin Abrams, Poorna Jagannathan, and Irina Dubova. While not yet officially rated by the MPA, Clooney's latest comment also affirms that Wolfs will be targeting an R-rating, though it's not yet clear what elements of the film, specifically, are contributing to this rating. With the film sporting a tone not dissimilar to the beloved Ocean's franchise, Clooney and Pitt's latest collaboration is definitely one to watch out for.
