Marvel's Logan a.k.a. Wolverine is one of the countless superheroes who have trouble getting drunk as a result of his unique anatomy and even after he's downed a few glasses of hard liquor - the clawed-killing machine only gets a brief buzz. But once a year, Wolverine is able to enjoy the dizzying effects of alcohol after spending time with a mutant and copy clerk named Chetfield Murray.

Since birth, the X-Men superhero Wolverine has had a healing factor allowing him to instantly heal from lethal wounds and after being experimented on by the Weapon X Program, his healing factor has only become stronger. Although his healing factor ultimately grants him longevity, the downside to it is that it prevents him from ever feeling the effects of alcohol and it's not often one will find Wolverine without a bottle in one hand and a fat cigar in the other. But he's finally discovered a method of achieving intoxication and that's while spending one night a year with a highly skilled and educated designer in Marc Bernardin, Dave Sharpe, Derek Fridolfs, Pow Rodrix, and Chris Sotomayor's Wolverine: One Night Only #1.

After Wolverine meets up with Chetfield Murray in his rundown apartment, the two go to a local bar to achieve one goal only - to get hammered. While taking a seat at a round table, Murray narrates how the two have become acquainted and it's all thanks to Charles Xavier a.k.a. Professor X who has used Cerebro to locate him as well as give Wolverine his information. After ordering many shots, Murray also tells the readers that the reason the two are well acquainted is that his mutant ability allows him to suppress the mutant powers of anyone who is within ten feet of him - which finally dampens Wolverine's powers long enough to allow him to become wasted.

wolverine raging drunk

But because Wolverine is an X-Men mutant who only grows stronger with rage and eventually goes into berserker mode, it's no surprise that he's a raging alcoholic once he finally gets drunk. And after having a few rounds of shots, Wolverine attempts to slice a beer bottle in half with one of his claws while slurring his words. And after he fulfills his endeavor, he angers a group of people who are sitting at the bar stand and a fight ensues. But once the bar stand, Wolverine, and the entire bar itself become engulfed in flames; Murray calls a cab to take the scarred Wolverine back to his apartment. The very next day, Murray hands Wolverine his black and yellow striped jacket as well as asks him if they want to get drunk the same time next year and Wolverine responds with, "Yeah. Wouldn't miss it."

It's depressing that in order for Wolverine to become intoxicated he has to exploit Chetfield Murray's mutant powers. But considering the fact Professor X is always teaching mutants how to control and expand upon their powers, it's interesting that he doesn't do the same for Murray - considering his powers may come in handy during a fight.
