Carter's portrayal of Wonder Woman/Diana Prince has a legacy of its own, with Jenkins commemorating her work in 2017, at the time of Wonder Woman's theatrical release, when she considered the actress to be important to the character's success. Carter's iconic Wonder Woman twirl also influenced the comics, with the spinning transformation sequence being incorporated in future publications. In 1985, she was recognized as an honoree in DC Comics' 50th-anniversary print, "Fifty Who Made DC Great," and had statues, as well as busts, created and sold by DC Direct in 2007 and 2010.

Carter's close attachment to Wonder Woman and the fanbase that has grown with the hero since her introduction is why she remains so beloved to this day. She certainly had an impact on the character's popularity outside the comics and has embraced current depictions, making longtime fans excited about recent projects, like Jenkins' films. Here's hoping Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman gets a third entry so that audiences get the opportunity to see more of Carter's new role.
