Today's Wordle Answer(January 20th #580)
The January 20th Wordle answer is ALTER.
For our starting Wordle word today we used IRATE which provided quite a lot of clues. Every letter, aside from the first, was correct but in the wrong position. For our second attempt, we simply shifted all the letters and tried RATED. This set the 'T' and 'E' in the correct spot and gave us enough information to know exactly where the other two letters need to be.
For our third attempt, and knowing that the word has to start with 'A' and end with 'R', we tried AFTER. This was incorrect which really only left one other possibility and scored us a Wordle win-in-four with ALTER.
