Survivle, the latest in a long list of Wordle took over the internet towards the end of last year, when it exploded into popularity, increasing its daily play rate exponentially in a matter of weeks. The word puzzle game offers a unique twist on many internet-based games in that it can only be played once a day, making it an excellent addition to morning routines or a convenient lunch-break brain teaser.

Due to Wordle's meteoric success it has spawned dozens of clone games, that take the core concept of Wordle and try to approach it from a new angle that will capture some of the original's popularity or snag a section of its fanbase. Many of these clones are simple reskins, which take Wordle and give it a theme so it might appeal to fans of that content. Lordle of the Rings is a LOTR-themed Wordle clone for example, and there is also such a one for MTG fans, among others. Other attempts to borrow some of Wordle's success have added unique spins to the game like changing it into a multiplayer battle royale. This newest clone follows in that line of thought.

An article published by Game Rant explained Survivle, which was announced in a Reddit post by its creator, lazyguyy, two days ago. Survivle finds a truly new take on Wordle by flipping the game entirely upside down. The goal of Survivle is to avoid guessing the correct word for as long as possible, despite being forced to use every correct piece of information you acquire. This new spin adds a fresh perspective on Wordle while simultaneously tapping into the same type of enjoyment that the original inspires.

Unsurprisingly, some of the best strategies in Wordle can be inverted, just like the game itself, to find winning techniques for Survivle. In Wordle, a player is served well by starting off with words that use as many different vowels as possible, as this helps significantly in narrowing down possibilities. Another common approach in Wordle is to find words constructed out of the most commonly used letters in the English language. In Survivle, doing the opposite will often aid in keeping players from discovering too many letters too soon.

For all that there are countless Wordle clones on the internet at this juncture, it is always refreshing to discover one more that is not simply a grab for fame or popularity but actually has a worthwhile concept behind the game and is fun and different to play. Survivle certainly checks these boxes and has the added benefit of subscribing to the same philosophy as the original. Survivle does not feature any ads and is entirely free to play, just as Wordle's creator, Josh Wardle, made his game.
