Some shows gain popularity that defies the showrunner's expectations. Audiences perhaps say likable main characters.
However, the appearance of celebrated guest stars on the series perhaps helped underscore its legacy as one of the funnier original comedy series of the 2010s. Fans might not some of the legendary comedic actors who lent their talent to the show.
Jack Black
Jack Black has acted in several highly-rated movies. However, many fans know the actor for his hilarious antics, so it's no surprise he was a great fit for Workaholics.
Black has perhaps one of the best guest-starring roles, as he gets to represent a family member of the main group of guys. He plays Adam DeMamp's dad in the Season 5 episode, "Gramps DeMamp is Dead."
Ben Stiller
By Season 5, Workaholics had developed a solid fan base, making for some of its most notable guest stars. Ben Stiller appeared in the second episode of the season, "Front Yard Wrestling."
As the main group of guys starts a wrestling show for public access TV, a few new characters are introduced. Ben Stiller plays Del Jacobson, landlord to Blake Henderson, Anders Holmvil, and Adam.
Andy Dick
Andy Dick plays Mr. Buckley, Blake's former drama coach. He comes to the show in its sixth season, in the episode "Meth Head Actor." Comedy fans know Andy Dick from as far back as "The Andy Dick Show" from the early 2000s.
Other viewers perhaps know him from many appearances in movies and shows like Netflix's Love. Audiences might say he gives one of the more memorable guest star performances in the series.
Rebel Wilson
Movie fans might know Rebel Wilson has worked with Adam Devine in one of his highest-rated movies, Pitch Perfect. However, audiences might not recognize Wilson's appearance in Workaholics.
She plays Big Money Hustla in Season 1, giving the show one of its first notable cameos. The guys attend an Insane Clown Posse concert, and Wilson is presented in full face makeup as a Juggalette.
Chris Parnell
Chris Parnell has appeared in several notable TV shows. He added Workaholics to the list in Season 1.
Parnell plays Bruce Benson in "In the Line of Getting Fired." Benson is the CEO of TelAmeriCorp, and gives Adam, Ders, and Blake worry when he threatens to can its employees.
Tim Heidecker
Tim Heidecker is a celebrated comedian and has produced dozens of innovative creative projects. Comedy fans no doubt were happily surprised to see him pop up in Season 3 of Workaholics.
Heidecker plays Reverend Troy in "The Lord's Force." He manages a group of religious wrestlers until they have a falling out. Afterward, the main guys take the group into their home.
Liam Hemsworth
In Season 6 of Workaholics, the series showcases one of its most famous contemporary guest stars. Liam Hemsworth plays Cushing Ward in "Wolves of Rancho."
Hemsworth might be best known for his highly-rated movies like The Hunger Games, but he shows off his comic chops as a slick former coworker at TelAmeriCorp who becomes an obnoxious success.
Lisa Loeb
Lisa Loeb might be one of the more unlikely cameos in Workaholics. She is known for her pop legacy stemming from her smash "Stay (I Missed You)," but has also appeared in several series and films.
Her song is referenced multiple times in Season 3's "Webcam Girl," but only eagle-eyed fans will notice her quick cameo in the episode.
Cary Elwes
Movie fans know Cary Elwes from iconic films like Saw. Audiences perhaps didn't expect to see the spirited dramatic actor appear in Workaholics.
He shows up in the series during the seventh season. In "The Most Dangerlees Game," Elwes plays Fox, one of a few wealthy men who the main guys encounter on a strange trip to a faraway cabin.
Jordan Peele
Jordan Peele is now perhaps best known for his innovative filmmaking with projects like Key & Peele.
Peele comes to Workaholics early on, in Season 3. In "The Worst Generation," he plays Mark, a receptionist with a ion for animal control at the retirement home where Adam's grandfather lives.
