Workaholics gets a lot of its humor from the unintelligent actions of its characters. Adam DeMamp and his pals develop several schemes to distract focus from their mundane telemarketing job. Throughout the show, the main trio faces conflict thanks in large part to their foolish behavior. However, some of the guys are smarter than others.

Furthermore, the other main characters in the show present their smarts in their interactions with the central guys. The hijinks that ensue help make Workaholics one of Comedy Central's highest-rated shows. During the outrageous conflicts of the show, characters showcase their wits.

Karl Hevacheck

Karl sitting in a dirty room in Workaholics.

Kyle Newacheck's Karl is one of Workaholics' most infamous characters. He is the main trio's drug dealer, and audiences see him in Workaholics. Karl is creative and comes up with various schemes throughout the series. However, he proves to be one of the show's least intelligent characters when these schemes don't work out.

From his burrito restaurant to the various functionalities of his van, Karl's foolish ideas often underscore his lack of wits. He shows he is without foresight when he ruins a truckload of stolen beer after jumping into it wearing soiled clothes. He is emotionally unintelligent, as shown in his unpredictable volatility.

Jillian Belk

Jillian Bell wearing a cardigan in the office in Workaholics.

Jillian Bell plays Jillian Belk, one of the main trio's friendly coworkers. She isn't any more competent than Blake, Anders, and Adam, yet their boss Alice Murphy often pits her with responsibilities on her. In these moments, Jillian's lack of wits is on display. When Alice puts Jillian in charge of the office, she proves to lack reason and the ability to multitask, and the office spirals out of control.

Jillian shows her lack of mental will when the guys pull her into their schemes, like when she drives them around in "Hungry Like the Wolf Dog." She is easily manipulated by the guys several times, like when they set her up on a blind date to exclude her from an event they are attending. Her goofy air-headedness is part of her funny character but highlights her lack of smarts.

Adam DeMamp

Three work buddies laughing and smiling in Workaholics

Many fans say Adam DeMamp is one of actor Adam Devine's funniest roles. He is boisterous, sarcastic, and loud. He shows his smarts in the several schemes the main trio comes up with throughout the series. He knows how to manipulate others, shown in his short-lived "top gun" seller position at TelAmeriCorp. However, he is perhaps the most foolish personality in the main trio.

Adam pulls one over on others, but he shows his smarts in his ability to be manipulated himself. He is tricked by his friends and coworkers. He shows his lack of foresight in events like when he dislocates both of his shoulders after trying to lift far more than he is capable of in a workout.

Blake Henderson

Blake Anderson wearing a USA shirt on Workaholics.

Blake Anderson's Blake is one of the more reserved personalities in the main cast of characters. He isn't brilliant, and on one occasion Adam claims he asks how to spell the word "if." However, he proves to be smarter than his peers in his creative ideas.

Blake comes up with several plans. He plans to start his own homemade beef jerky company with Adam. He presents several smart puns in dozens of episodes. Furthermore, he is often separated from Adam and Ders when they pick on him, and his free-thinking mind is highlit when he shies away from their plans.

Anders "Ders" Holmvik

Anders Holm wearing a tie in his cubicle on Workaholics.

Anders Holm's Ders is one of the most likable characters in Workaholics. Furthermore, it's difficult to argue he isn't the smartest member of the main trio. Ders takes on responsibilities that Adam and Blake don't have the mind for. If the three are going to an event, it is usually Ders who handles things like tickets and transportation.

When the guys wake up drunk before work, Ders is the first to notice the truth. When the trio bets on high school sports, Ders is the only one who understands odds and speaks for the group to place their bet. He is almost always presented in the position of smartest and represents the group in tough situations.

Montez Walker

Erik Griffin sitting in a cubicle unenthused in Workaholics.

Erik Griffin plays Montez, the trio's coworker, and occasional hangout buddy. The humor from Workaholics most often comes from the foolish actions of Blake, Ders, and Adam. Montez, although funny, works as one of the less goofy characters for the stars to bounce jokes off of.

Montez shows his smarts in the workplace. He often brags about his efficiency on the job, highlighting his quick thinking and reasoning. When the boys are up to something, Montez is one of the first people to notice their scheming. His suspicion underscores his critical thinking.

Alice Murphy

Alice Murphy split screen in her office in Workaholics.

Maribeth Monroe's Alice is the main trio's boss at TelAmeriCorp. She is one of the show's less silly characters. It's hard to argue Alice isn't the smartest main character in Workaholics. When the main trio's mind is preoccupied with doomed schemes, Alice is focused on her job.

Alice shows a lack of emotional intelligence in her short temper. Sometimes the trio tricks her, but she almost always figures out their plans by episodes' ends. She is suspicious of them and all her coworkers, underscoring her logic and critical thinking. Furthermore, she has used her smarts to rise to the highest rank in the Rancho Cucamonga TelAmeriCorp office, highlighting her foresight.
