Warning! This post contains SPOILERS for One World Under Doom #1Although I wish I could, I really can't tell you how we're supposed to achieve world peace and greater unity in the real world today. However, what I can do is point out Marvel's newest series where Doctor Doom provides an entertaining, yet wholly fictitious, solution. As it turns out, getting all the nations of the world to stop war and unify as one people is pretty freaking easy when you have unlimited magical power as the Sorcerer Supreme (and a big a** T-Rex to back you up).
As seen in Marvel's new One World Under Doom #1 by Ryan North and R.B. Silva, Victor von Doom has convinced the majority of the world's leaders to swear fealty to him, creating the singular nation of "United Latveria" where universal free health care and higher education are required, basic needs are met, while war and bigotry are completely outlawed (sounds nice, right?). Presenting himself as a leader who can't be corrupted or bought, Doom has promised to be magnanimous and merciful. However, the end of the issue proves Doom's new world order will be maintained and enforced with some incredibly impressive tools of justice:
As the current Sorcerer Supreme, Doctor Doom is shown riding into battle on the sentient T-Rex variant of himself that he first met in 2023's Fantastic Four #12. While this prehistoric Doom variant was last seen battling Marvel's main Doom after they turned on each other, it seems as though even he recognizes his counterpart's mission for world peace cannot be stopped nor challenged.
Doctor Doom Is Demanding World Peace With A Brave New World Order
(And He's Got The Dinosaur To Back It Up)
Naturally, the heroes of the Marvel Universe are shown in this issue looking for the catch, and they believe they have when they discover that Doom killed the Red Skull and Baron Zemo before replacing Zemo with a Doombot. Sharing this information to the world with the fear that Doom had potentially replaced nation leaders across the globe, Doom its that he replaced Zemo to manipulate Hydra into building new schools and hospitals. However, the reveal also motivated the terrorist organization to lash out and attack the innocent (as Doom knew they would).

Fantastic Four: Doctor Doom's 10 Greatest Ultimate Universe Superpowers
In the Ultimate Universe, Doctor Doom isn't just a genius - he's an actual superhuman, with wild powers that he used to attack the Fantastic Four.
Having planned for the Avengers and Fantastic Four's inability to let him just take control and bring about a new world order, Doom wanted the truth about Zemo exposed and for Hydra to attack, the perfect excuse for him to come riding in on his T-Rex and save the day. Not only did he completely wipe out Hydra in a single day which Marvel's heroes had been failing to do since the Second World War, but this also increased his own goodwill while putting the heroes in a bad light. As a result, Doom's new world order is coming to (and he'll be loved for it).
Doom Is Already Succeeding With His "United Latveria"
Winning Over Hearts and Minds
The final page of One World Doom #1 hammers Doom's victory home as a mother carrying her child reaches out to the Sorcerer Supreme for his protection. Doctor Doom's not turning civilians into slave workers, or having statues in his likeness erected in his name. He's fighting to create a new system and world order that's truly better for all than the one that currently exists.
"That said, the true power Doctor Doom wields that matters far more is how he's already won the hearts and the minds of the people who are now looking to him as their new hero, leader, and savior."
Doom's also willing to do whatever it takes to maintain the unified world he envisions, even if that means unleashing his power as the Sorcerer Supreme and his new T-Rex steed on those who threaten said unity and peace. That said, the true power Doctor Doom wields that matters far more is how he's already won the hearts and the minds of the people who are now looking to him as their new hero, leader, and savior. It's going to be fascinating to see how Marvel's heroes will manage to end Doom's new reign (without looking like the bad guys).
One World Under Doom #1 is now on sale from Marvel Comics.
