The newly-announced Blizzard website leak about the WoW expansion, it has now been officially confirmed that Dragonflight will take gamers to the mythical Dragon Isles for a high-flying adventure. The expansion will include a unique Dragonriding traversal mechanic, an entirely new continent, and a brand-new raid. However, the Dracthyr Evoker may actually be the most exciting addition to Blizzard's massively multiplayer online role-playing game.

As a premier MMORPG, World of Warcraft currently offers a wide range of different playable races and classes. The number of playable races was brought to 23 with the title's last expansion, Shadowlands. 11 races belong to the Alliance faction, 11 belong to the Horde faction and the panda-like Pandaren are a neutral party. This selection of races ranges from humans to orcs to trolls to mechagnomes, giving players plenty of opportunities for roleplaying. There are also 12 classes available in World of Warcraft, ranging from warriors to demon hunters to monks, with each reflecting a distinct playstyle and set of abilities. Typically classes are restricted to a group of particular races, but the World of Warcraft: Dragonflight expansion will break the mold by introducing an exclusive race-and-class combo.

The new World of Warcraft expansion, Dragonflight, will introduce a combined race-and-class set called the Dracthyr Evoker. The race of draconic humanoids was created by Neltharion the Earth-Warder, an ancient Dragon Aspect and leader of the black dragonflight. This epic origin lets the race wield the magic of all five dragonflights, which is reflected in the function and prismatic design of their abilities. Like the Pandaren hero race, a Dracthyr Evoker player will start out neutral and be given the opportunity to either the Alliance or Horde. The race-class hybrid is able to switch between two forms, a horned humanoid visage and a more draconic form. Both forms are customizable, giving players double the design work with the option of matching colors between both appearances.

Dragonflight's Dracthyr Evoker Is A Versatile Reptile

WoW Dragonflight Dracthyr Evoker

While the most popular World of Warcraft races may be humans and Night Elves, several original mechanics may make the Dracthyr Evoker more alluring. Flight grants them mobility around the battlefield, and the Evoker has two wildly different specializations which utilize different dragon magics. The Devastation powerset lets the Dracthyr fight from mid-range using red and blue magic, which takes the form of claws, fiery breath and magic beams. The Preservation specialization, meanwhile, s allies with life-giving green magic and bronze temporal magic. Dracthyr Evokers can also charge attacks and release them at the right moment to bolster their effects, creating a unique physical connection with gameplay. Creating a Dracthyr Evoker leads to an original starting experience which will help players get familiar with the unique powers of the newly awakened race.

A new playable World of Warcraft race is always exciting, but the Dracthyr Evoker looks to be a particularly deep addition to the MMORPG's customization suite. The race-and-class combo possesses unique lore and a range of abilities, so exploring the Dragon Isles in World of Warcraft: Dragonflight promises to be especially magical as a Dracthyr Evoker.
