WWE 2K22 has five DLC packs that will add a total of 28 wrestlers to the game's roster. In recent years, DLC has become a common element in WWE games, and almost every game that has been released in the past decade has included able content in one way or another. WWE 2K22's DLC packs are the latest addition to this trend.
Every DLC pack in WWE 2K22 features at least five wrestlers, all of which are unlocked as soon as the DLC has been ed. Each pack has a themed name referring to the most famous wrestler featured in the pack. While WWE 2K22's DLC is missing some great wrestlers, the packs still have plenty of quality talent waiting to be added to the game.
The releases are not going to be all at once, but rather spread out over the course of three months. Once released, these DLC packs will be available to be purchased and ed at any time. Before buying one of WWE 2K22's DLC packs, however, a player would be wise to know what is inside.
The WWE 2K22 Banzai Pack Showcases The Powerful Yokozuna
WWE 2K22's Banzai Pack gets its name from the catchphrase of the New Generation monster heel Yokozuna. A Samoan wrestler with a sumo-themed gimmick, Yokozuna used his size and strength to bully his way through the WWF roster, while occasionally showing surprising agility with his superkicks. A two-time WWE Champion and Tag Team Champion, Yokozuna has definitely earned his place in the WWE Hall of Fame. Although he is quite the opposite of WWE 2K22 cover superstar Rey Mysterio, he makes for a fine addition to the roster nevertheless.
The Banzai Pack also features two other famous Samoan wrestlers from WWE's history. "The Samoan Bulldozer" Umaga will be appearing in a wrestling game for the first time since WWE Smackdown Vs. Raw 2010, and the dancing, sunglasses-wearing Rikishi will be making his return as well. More recent WWE giant Omos is also a part of this pack, making his WWE video game debut. Although most of the Banzai Pack is made up of famous wrestling giants, the small yet extremely athletic Kacy Catanzaro of NXT fame is also included in this group. The banzai Pack will go on sale on April 26.
WWE 2K22's Most Wanted Pack Brings Back Cactus Jack
Mick Foley has been known as Mankind and Dude Love over the course of his wrestling career, but WWE 2K22's Most Wanted Pack will bring him in as his most brutal alter ego, Cactus Jack, whose violent talents were one of the reasons Foley was suggested as Mortal Kombat DLC. Foley's long career featured several classic moments under each of his names, most famously entering the 1998 Royal Rumble 3 times, once under each of his personas. As the tough, brutal Cactus Jack, he was one of WWE's masters of hardcore combat, and his unrelenting aggression can be unlocked in WWE 2K22 through the Most Wanted DLC Pack.
Cactus Jack is not the only scary customer lurking in the Most Wanted Pack. The Boogeyman, whose antics regularly walked the line between humorous and disturbing, s the roster. Legendary big man Vader is also making his return to the WWE 2K series. Although WWE 2K22's original NXT plans didn't come to fruition, NXT UK champion Ilja Dragunov will fit into the roster just fine. Finally, NXT women's standout Indi Hartwell rounds out the pack. The Most Wanted Pack will be released on May 17.
WWE 2K22's Stand Back Pack Features Cult Favorite Hurricane Helms
Hurricane Helms was never presented as a main event contender in WWE but his entertaining superhero gimmick and antics made him popular with fans. Despite not being a top star, Helms won multiple titles with the company, and even once scored a victory over The Rock n the main event of RAW. Helms has not appeared in a video game since WWE Smackdown Vs. Raw 2008, and hadn't appeared in a game as the Hurricane persona since the 2006 edition. After over a decade of players having to WWE 2K Community Creations in order to play as The Hurricane, the Stand Back Pack is officially bringing him into the game.
The Stand Back Pack isn't just for The Hurricane alone. Former WWE Diva and Dancing With The Stars competitor Stacy Keibler makes her first playable appearance since WWE Smackdown Vs. Raw 2006. Inaugural NXT UK Heritage Cup winner A-Kid also graces this pack with his presence. As one more offering, both of former NXT Tag Team Champions MSK, Wes Lee and Nash Carter, round out this set of athletic and agile performers. WWE 2K22's Stand Back Pack will launch on June 7.
The Clowning Around Pack Welcomes Doink The Clown Into WWE 2K22
The appropriately named Clowning Around Pack will be bringing Doink the Clown into WWE 2K22. In 1992, the villainous Doink entered WWF, spreading misery to fans as well as his opponents, and he famously used a clone of himself to triumph over Crush at WrestleMania IX. Although modern heel Bray Wyatt was cut from WWE 2K22, Doink's brand of classic, cackling villainy is a perfect fit. Considered one of the great heels of the early '90s, Doink is set to make his first current-gen video game appearance in the summer.
Five other wrestlers are included in the Clowning Around Pack. The recently resurfaced Ronda Rousey will be appearing in her third WWE game in a row. The Scottish powerhouse Doudrop will be another valuable addition to the women's side of the roster. Shinsuke Nakamura's guitar-playing sidekick Rick Boogs is also set to make his WWE gaming debut here. As for other legends, The British Bulldog returns to the series after missing WWE 2K20. Finally, in an addition that may be more exciting than WWE 2K22's pre-order bonuses, Mr. T will also be ing the roster for anyone who purchases this pack. The Clowning Around Pack will go on sale on June 28.
The Whole Dam Pack Is Bringing Rob Van Dam To WWE 2K22
Rob Van Dam has had a storied career through ECW, WWE, and Impact, among others. He is not only one of WWE's Grand Slam champions, but he also held both the WWE and ECW championships at the same time. His mixture of high flying, striking, and hardcore spots gave him a truly unique style, and he has remained a popular performer throughout his career. With the release of The Whole Dam Pack, he will make his WWE 2K return.
Fittingly, The Whole Dam Pack is the largest DLC pack for WWE 2K22, including seven wrestlers in total. Aside from Rob, every wrestler is making their WWE video game debut in a much-improved WWE 2K offering. Apollo Crews' ally Commander Azeez will be ing the game's selection of big men. Frequent NXT standout LA Knight will also be taking his rightful spot on the roster. As for the women's roster, martial artist Xia Li will be added in this DLC as well as the recently reinvented joshi star Sarray. This pack is rounded out with musician Machine Gun Kelly and WrestleMania 38 guest star Logan Paul. The Whole Dam Pack will become available on July 19.
WWE 2K22's DLC calendar lays out several releases to watch out for over the next three months. The game's starting roster is already rather impressive, and the DLC's additions will fill a few missing pieces. Fans of WWE will likely be keeping a close eye on the WWE 2K22 DLC wrestler pack releases, especially with some of the names involved.
